Yep. Unless you plan on adding in some bigger stuff later on down the line, mind as well buy a better power supply. Not like you're gonna add florecent lights into your puter like some, or are you? :p

oh my....that is plenty. a good quality 300w is enough. The mini pc's (shuttle's)
can drive ati 9800pros and powerhungry cpu's with their 250w PS if you only use one harddrive.

It mostly comes down to the quality and stable delivery of the supply and not the peak performances that many of the PS brag about.

What Nilsen said.

A good quality (Fortron, Zalmann, Thermaltake...)  PFC 300W power-supply will be better for your gear and your ears than an el-cheapo 420W.

I'm gonna go against the grain here a bit.Yes buy a reputable P/S,but I'd still go with a 400+.

You may want to add periphials later, and the next generation of video cards may or may not need more power.Nvidia recommends you have a 480 watt P/S for the GeForce 6800 Ultra.

Oh yes sox.... by all means buy the best you can afford (within reason). 300w will not be enough forever, but if you are on a budget its often easy to look for the PS that gives you most W and in that case id rather go for a good Q 300 than a mediocre/poor 400w. There are plenty of websites out there (usually that deals with overclocking) that test alot of PS in different classes and gives you great advice.

I totally agree on the quality issue.I bought one generic P/S at Compusa, and after six months my system started getting bsod's,and it eventually failed.
