Juzz, my guess is easier. The reason of course is that more rounds will fly in a astraight line (or relatively straight line) and the sprayu n prayer will have an easier time walking the sight up and down on a fleeing enemy.

Long range shots might be affected but methinks short range ones (i.e most guns except US ones) will remain the same.

I just wonder; which is more realistic?

Shots against non-manouevering targets don't count. Those kind of targets probably deserve to die if they are that stupid.

Against a manouevering target, would it be easier to hit with guns that had absolutely no scatter, or ones that did scatter?

Why do you think the US and others varied the convergence on their banks of wing guns...

I for one will probably like the change very much, as I like to fly .50 and Hispano armed planes and my aim is steady. What I am looking to is a little better long range capabilites, not significantly but still.

All weapons will probably get a boost in the damage department though as the rounds hit the same areas of the target plane more often rather than scattering all around.

On the whole, I can't see this change making the game less realistic or enjoyable to play at the least.

I see it like this with a more concentrated density at centre of cone then long range shots have to be harder to score a hit, but if you do hit then the damage sustained should be greater but then again it will still also be dependant on your convergence settings as well.
So if you cant hit long range shots now then your gonna be even worse
As has already been said if your flying steady enough for somebody to pop you at long range then you deserve to die anyway.
I reckon the biggest effect will be upon buffs cos the defenders gonna have a harder time to hit the attacking aircraft while the attacking fighter will find it easier to hit the BIG bomber target effectively.

The 1.04 changes IMO made it more difficult for pure bnz aircraft (that don't have massive HO cannons and toughness) to compete like they used to.  The changes to the gunnery made flying the p51 an exercise in frustration.  In a 1 vs 1 fight with an e advantage it would probably still win.  In the arena though this never happens.  Even if you do manage to get into a good 1 vs 1 without fail a 4 cannon plane will make a vertical dive at you and go for the HO no matter what.  (Can't really fault them, it's smart flying vs the p51.)  I think that the gunnery change in 1.05 will probably help the p51 and p47 more than any other plane.  I'm hoping it returns the missing snapshot ability that all cannon planes have and they now lack.  People will once again fear a fight with a p47 and p51, and IMO that is a good thing.

Look at it this way...planes with nose mounted guns won't be spraying bullets all over 'tarnation.

I'd look for better killing power in the 109's, Yak, P-38, etc.

but thats just speculation.
