YO HTC OR ANYBODY...can ya help?
« on: October 09, 2000, 11:23:00 AM »
Is there a way to unsubscribe an account instead of deleting it to stop payment?

If so please do tell if not, well I guess I get a new name again.

While this may be a valid question on the whole, let me ask you a question:

What kind of account system should they have to fit your needs? Isn't this like the third time you've quit?

I havent quit yet but I would like to be able to skip a few months when I have better things to do than play AH. Seems kinda stupid paying for a game that I dont play right?

JoeMud,

HTC's policy is not to put accounts on hold. The only way to stop paying for a subscription is to delete your account. You may do that from the admin section on the clipboard.

Please keep in mind that when you delete your account, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to obtain the same handle if you should re-subscribe in the future.

If you have any other questions, please e-mail me at billing@hitechcreations.com

Yankee,

This is an unfortunate policy.  I can understand you not allowing subs to be suspended and activated at will, for some would simply suspend it during the week and activate it during the weekend.  However HTC should provide the option to pay on a month by month basis, giving us the choice to renew or not.  This option should not allow for pro-rating, you pay for the whole month no matter if you play or not.  The month would begin when payment is received and end the same day the next month unless renewed.  In the same vein, 3 or 6 month prepay discounts could be done.

Anyway, I am unsatisfied with the billing procedures.  I should not lose my AH persona due to a conflict with work or studies and I damn sure shouldn't have to pay to keep it alive.

P.S.  I emailed HTC with this same question over a week ago.  No reply.

theNIne , seems they do that alot   They don't like something they don't bother to write back

If I get you right you would like billing to be like Premium games on the zone . Works very good and easy too . Pay for month by month and still keep your name if you don't pick up each and every month . A lot better system then the one thay have here

Oh ya and a lot cheaper too I might add

Yup, I have to agree.

But you definitely get what you pay for

Well im over at WB now and to my amazment I got the callsign joemud over there...unlike this place where I have to come up with a new name everytime I wanna skip a month or so.

BTW guys WB isnt the horror story ive heard of so far the only thing rong is the 109 damage model and the p39s 37mm and thats it I can live with that.

Guys, c'mon...

It has been explained to you why the billing system works the way it does... 6 people, keeping it simple for now... managing different pricing structures would create more work in the office at a time when they don't have the manpower to do it.

Is it wrong? No, you are not forced to do it. It may not be a favorable option, but it is understandable, and the necessary one for now. I averaged maybe 10 sorties a month the last two months, and still paid for my callsign. I don't think that is "evil" or unfair. I know what the rules are and I decide to play or not.

As for the Zone being a lot cheaper, yes it is. Is it a lot better? If you think so, why waste time coming here and spending so much more for an inferior product?

You don't have to answer that, I have been to the Zone, too.
