Great idea wobble.  Just one change...

Only paying customers would get to use the mod featues.  Non-paying customers would be limited to the base download.

What do you think about that?

Or.. does this fall into your "why everyone should make my on-line gaming experience as fun as possible without costing me a dime" philosophy I've seen you use in so many threads lately?

I think the fewer grubby fingers in the pot, the cleaner the product will be.

Stay outa the kitchen on this one.

There is no chance of this happening, but what the hell...

What Mav said.  And furthermore, the only plus in this for us players would be if such a move resulted in faster game development.  The pace of development in this game is already phenomenal.  I think it would slow down development.  Someone at HTC who is already coding for the game would have to dedicate man hours to weeding through submissions, examining code line by line, testing it to make sure it works as advertised by the submitter, and deciding whether such a mod fits with the vision that HTC has for the game.

And you have to consider the whine factor.  "Hitech is an bellybutton because he didn't choose to adopt my coding mod!  And I sent it to him a whole day ago!"

Sorry, I don't see where it would help at all.  I can see where it would hurt a lot.

Better idea...

Wobble, as long as you are so quick to have HTC hand over the keys to their income and livelyhood, how about I suggest you send me a few thousand dollars? It's just as reasonable.

As to everyone just write their own code and submit it so HTC can intergrate it in as they see fit - equally ludicrous. Don't any of you guys proposing this junk know squat about programming?

I'm not saying that writing up a standard isn't possible. Nor is the thought of people writing modules that all get lumped together into a final solution. Happens all the time. But try to get a bunch of amateur, wanna-be HTC employees doing it and it would be a huge mess. What about documentation? What about integration and optimization?

Yeah. Great idea.... NOT.

As a rule.. you may want to avoid any "how to make this game like your favorite FPS" threads.  It never goes over well with the sim world.

Wobble:

Ahem...

You misspelled imbecile.  When you are casting aspersions on somebody else’s intelligence, spelling errors of this sort really undercut your position IMHO.
