Living in Texas I have come to apreciate the majority of Mexican immigrants. I have no idea how many are legal or illegal but they are for the most part family oriented/hardworkers.

The most dangerous thing about Mexican immigrants is when they get behind the wheel after a payday. The problem is how to you stop the influx of people without some liberal group crying racism. I saw on FNC where people from Arab countrys are paying $50,000 a piece to be brought across the Mexican/U.S border. I guess we will have to wait for the suicide bombers to start killing kids at our malls before we really get serious about homeland security.

I live in Southern California. There are estimates of up to 2 million illegal immigrants in California today. Schools, hospuitals and roads are jammed to the limit.

A couple of weeks ago the Border Patrol did some unannounced sweeps in the "Inland Areas" of California. These were all within 10 miles of where I live and were 100 miles or so from the border.

Over 400 illegals were caught and deported.

Now the Bush administration is saying "stop the sweeps" and Kerry won't jump in to disagree I'm sure. You see the 5% Hispanic vote is important when 1% either way could win this election.

It would work the other way around, Thrawn.

First send the 6-8 million illegals home, then all the Jobs they had would need to be filled by LEGAL residents. The market would drive the wages of those jobs higher on it's own.

Probably would create the best economy we have ever had if we sent them all packing.

I agree with[ M .T.]on this one,cant lay it all on demos,I to live in s.ca. and am a contractor.I can tell u that the mexicans who are citizens are very up set at the illegals and almost hate them.for those of u that say they only take jobs no one wants i no u are wrong.in 1988 my crew was 1/3 mexican.there avg pay was12 dollars an hr. the others was 16.[guess i have to add both black and white].had 3 foremans 1 was mexcian pay 22an hr.I am just a small contr. now just have couple guys 1 mexican amer.citizen journeyman i pay 20 because i can. the other 2 i pay 11.[ I could pay my journeyman 17 and the other 2, 9.00 ].If i had same crew as in 1988 there avg. pay would be 10 to 13.50 and i could get mexican amer. foremans for 18.oo hr.A good white foreman to day would be between 25 and 32.50 depending.why are the guys that work for me back then mad.. because the illegals have really depressed the wages in all phases of constr.most the guys that used to work for me are retired and just do side jobs and make about 30 an hr...question have any of u traveled to states that have very few mexicians there...notice the people that work in resturants, fast food ,hotel maids,gas stations etc are white or black.... seems to me that they want those jobs or am i off course?

They may do SOME jobs we would not do, but they have killed the trade jobs.

Try and get a job in constrution, cabinet making, roofing etc, they are all filled with ilegals working for WAY less then half what a skilled tradesman would have made.

Bush sucks on this issue, I was pissed when he tried to do the amnesty for ilegals crap.
