ati 9550 card
« on: July 10, 2004, 05:37:32 PM »
ok guys i broke down and got me a ati 9550 256mb card for my old gammer ... its gf2 mx 400 was just getting to tired and the fps would hit 1-5 when in a ship gun and a huge furball going on .

for 95 bucks this card runs just as well as my 9600 pro thats in my other machine i cant really tell a difference at all .

the one thing i do see is the ati based cards still dont have the fps that my old ti 4600 runs at  .. but its alot better eyecandy wise then my gf2 was .    Generals zero hour cranked to the max plays great , so does il2fb , f-1 ,fs2004 .... there all playing great with no clashes/freezes/crashes or anything else so far.

I can highly recomend this card for you guys with the smaller cpu's

A 9500 & a 9600 have nearly identical benchmarks, but the 9600 doesn't need as much power to do it.

the 9550 is based on the 9600 chipset  and is a step above the 9600 se

i dont really see any difference so far between this card and my 9600 pro
