Just as a headsup, since I dunno how much you've paid attention to the scenarios here so far....

Ya might wanna factor in, when yer cooking up OoB numbers, that the scenario community here has a pretty small hard core, relative to the numbers you see in the arenas. Plus, the norm here seems to be to cater to the attention-deficit crowd when scheduling, 4 frame events with one-a-week frames being the norm.

I agree with you that longer events are more immersive, in that they allow teams to mature within the event. I'm just guessing that you'll see a significant dropoff in numbers after the first few frames, as per the norm here.

Yes, we've discussed this already.

The counter-balance is that (a) a lot of geezers are coming out of the woodwork for this event, (b) this is the first event I've run in about 7 years and who knows when the next will be, and (c) if the geezers end up being squad leaders, I'm hoping the other players are smart enough not to piss 'em off by bailing in the event.

Like I know? I still think it's a great concept, I'm just not well enough in tune with the MA to know what needs to be done to make it useful there.

Anyway ... get me your email addy so I can get you involved in the Rangoon terrain discussion.

The problem is, there isn't a large enough hard core scenario group yet for there to be enough people who give a flying fark enough to care that they're pissing off somebody in this position.

I mentioned OoB in this context because its always seemed better to me to have rides be hard to get than empty. Looking at numbers for the past few scenarios then scaling to fit is kinda what I was suggesting.

Seeking out a couple of hard-chargers for COs who will put a lot of effort into communication and organizing would be a good idea, too.

Worst case we scale down squadrons by 25% - I'd rather not see that happen.
