Welcome,Comrade, to the Russian Front! (10bears new terrain)
« on: November 27, 2000, 09:34:00 AM »
What this picture doesn't show is the clouds and layers of clouds  right to the deck at A1,having to wait for a cloud bank to move so you can take off.. and believe it or not, my Frame Rate is higher than that of Main arena in AH.  I will post more tomorrow.  Terrain is still in beta, 10bears  will notify us when he wants this released to the public, but I can attest (along with other VMF-323 members) that this terrain ROOOOOOOOOOCKS!

Very, very nice.

All we need now is the Il-2, T-34 and Stuka and we'd be set.

Yes, I thought the same, until I fought in them.  I avg. about 34-45 FRS, whereas in the Main arena, I avg. about 22 FRS.  And the wind was moving them quite fast, it was surreal...

Ripsnort, what are the specs for your PC? I'm curious.
Currently I get hi 30's to 40's till I get around clouds and smoke. Smoke is the worste. but around clouds I end up in the low 20's.
I am in line ofr an upgrade from a PII 333 to a PIII 600E soon. That will help but I'm wondering how much.

Sorry to got OT. I'm still amazed vy that terrain though. BIG wtfg!!

In northern Russia it wasn't uncommon to have solid clouds as low as a 1000 feet.

Perfect! I should definately get a solid boost in handling the eye candy when I receive the new hardware. I have 256mb PC100/133 sdram and a TnT2 Ultra 32mb also.  Thanks Ripsnort. <S>

Guys you know that you can push your Coppermines (very good are 600E and 700E) at 112FSB with only a BIOS setting change? With a PC133 RAM you can go at 124FSB. In both cases there are no heat nor stability problem at all. Dunno if the 550 is able to do the same thing.

Anyway, the new terrain rocks! Bring in Il-2s, T-34s and more Yaks for my friend Leonid!   A winter-camo Focke-Wulf and/or 109 would be cool as well ...
