Anyone else with bad connects tonight?
« on: February 01, 2000, 02:30:00 AM »
I noticed much worse than usual lag tonight.  I was also booted twice, even though I'm on a 100baseT network that was still fully functional.  I also noticed it was very easy to snap off wings/tail.  Even now, the connection to this website is pretty slow.  Did anyone else notice anything?  (1/31/00)

Last night was one of my better connection nights.  When I disconnected myself from the I-Net, I noticed my connection was 28.8K.  Normally it is 44K.

Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Yeah, last night was a bad one for me too. ISDN here, green lights all the way, but I noticed quite a bit of lag. Funny thing is, I didn't see any jumping, was just getting nailed from enemies in places that shouldn't have killed me. Whined a little about it at first (sorry) but just settled down and approached everything a bit more cautiously. Aggravating thing is that of course it is also much more difficult to kill anything when it is like this.

I was on the same time as you Dolomite.  I didn't experience any lag/warping at all.  Sounds like a hub was hosed somewhere along the line.

That is the one shortfall for on-line gaming companies.  No matter how stable you make your server or your game, you are still at the mercy of several different links in the chain... all of wich neither the game company nor the user has any control over.
