This is unfortunately the bare bones of it.

Slo re pull out we bash them.

SLO cant you truly see what is going on.Unless you are one of the terriost or muslim...u are a barbarian to them, they would love to kill u and you family right now. They saw a decent size power in Spain turn and run like...u name it...on there web sites they said they did not expect spain to do that. it isnt rational they see everyone as cowards and in the end be it 100 years from now they will win.Dont u remember what appeasment did with hitler and others.Slo please respectfully grow up be for it is to late.there are 2 plus billion of them, what are u going to do when they come for you and yours. What spain and the phillipeans have done has made us less safe, what france and germany have done has made us less safe.

You have no ****ing clue on what's happeneing in the Philippines right now...

here are some examples...

*Philippine economy and law & order is in shambles... They need rebuild their country first...

*Im 1000 percent sure that Arroyo's opponenents, liberals, ect would try to overthrow her current admin if they chose to ignore the terrorist demands.

Btw, most Filipinos believe that the US invaded Iraq based on fabricated intel reports from CIA.

It's the principle of the act.  It'll make headlines.

Which is stronger?

"40 coalition troops head home."

"ALL Phillipino troops pull out of Iraq."

This will be my final post on the subject, as it will be very easy to cut&paste to other future threads.

1. The governing party in Spain, then in the opposition, promised to withdraw the troops from Iraq long before 3-11.

2. The terrorist demands were to withdraw troops from Iraq AND Afghanistan

3. The new government withdrew the spanish troops from Iraq

4. Spain just sent more troops to Afghanistan (bet that didn't make the news there).

So we are giving in to terrorist demands... right.

Most people in Spain were with the US in the war in Afghanistan to get OBL.
Most people in Spain were against the war in Iraq.

We withdrew our troops from Iraq. We are sending more to Afghanistan. I see the logic. Do you?

Labor have been promising to pull our diggers out 'by christmas' for months if they win power late this year...no doubt it'll be spun into some rushed last minute "spineless withdraw" by the liberal govt. and Howard's best friend GWB. when it happens...

In politics popular perception becomes the truth: perception is everything.  If the concors populi says Spain and the Phillipines caved then that is what happened.

Policies and decisions will be based upon that perception.  It does not matter if in reality it is removed from the truth.  If the people believe it, it is the de-facto truth.

Thats fine, but bowing to the terrorists demands by pulling out a month early will only make it that much harder to stabilize their own country.  Now that the people causing the trouble sees how the Filipino government gives in to terrorist demands how do you think that will affect their actions in the future?  If anything, she just put herself and her government in a more precarious position by giving in and pulling the troops out a month early.

If you didn't understand, heres what  I meant:
It shows how hastily decisions were made concerning the iraq war and now those who found out they weren't thinking far enough are pulling out.

Spain was a good example... back then the administration weren't taking into count what the people thinks and what are they or the people willing to risk for this particular war.
Philippinos nor spaniards simply didn't think the iraq war is their war and therefore it didn't need much setbacks to pull them out of iraq.
If the administration would been smart, they would have never participated.
I guess they wanted to get in better relationship with the USA and disregarding their own people.
