Frame rates have always been low for my vid card and or connection (dial up), but to the extent, that I wonder if having clouds or smoke, really increases the realism of the game if it sacrifices so much of the flight model.
Just an idea but, since those things appear to gobble fps, maybe an option to toggle them like clutter.
HTC, I wonder if some low tech

solutions might be useful to cutting down on the number of bug reports that appear to be performance issues.

And if that works keep rollin it back (like WalMart:p) until I can get to play on my laptop again.
Don't get me wrong about performance posts, I appreciate the insight into possible future hardware upgrades and the validation that others are seeing the same things that I have experienced.
I guess I am saying two things:
1- Maybe
all of the eye candy is not worth it, and hopefully easy to remedy or toggle off (sliders and multiple configurations may just be too complicated for catz like me - - with no opposable thumbs )
2- I would like to see everyone getting back to the business of having fun, despite the occasional stutter or disco, and HTC spending time on what they intended on improving, gameplay - or was it eye candy?
HTC if you are listening I would like to hear what you think.
