« on: July 17, 2004, 05:05:28 PM »
I had just opened my beer when being bored I started to read on the back of the bottle ...
Nothing fancy in the French version , German is pretty similar but the Canadian text is :
Strong beer flavored with tequila

What kind of piss you usualy drink to find a 5.9% beer strong ??

Starting at 8% you can find strong beer but at 5.9% no way ...

Boycott canada !

Eek, Frédéric - 5% is plenty strong enough for me - I like to drink a lot - ie English pints (.57 litre) - not those wussie 25cl beers you have! ;)  I have to drink those fast - before they evaporate! :lol

Coming to France again soon - Reims. Looking forward to drinking Kronenbourg 1664 and Pelforth Blonde - and champagne of course!

Canadian beer is a lot like American beer, but it's from Canada.  Frankly all of the British colonies produce nothing but pisswater as far as mass-produced stuff.

I think I can sum this up pretty quick. Not sure what you were drinking but it sounds like Tequiza or somthing similar. In the US most of those "flavored" beers are classified as "malt beverage" or "flavored beer". Because they are fortified with spirits or flavors after the brewing process, the FDA will not let them call it beer. I'm sure this is the same circumstance with the Canadians, they just call that class "Strong Beer".
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Fred was created to honor beer writer and historian Fred Eckhardt. This golden strong ale incorporates ten hop varieties from five different countries. Through the use of aromatic and rye malt, the beer achieves a unique balance of flavor. We hope that Fred will inspire you to share your knowledge with others as Fred has with us. Fred is 10% alcohol by volume.

Strong beer?  ha!  A few weeks ago I had this vile liquid called "Big Foot Ale."  9.6% alcohol by volume.  It makes SOB's anal hair taste like a lolipop!  Hmm.. wait... no.  No actually that sounds about right :)

Have to agree. Canada's beer has a slightly higher alcohol content, but I really don't see much difference. Molson and Labatts etc. suck.

But why the hell is a frenchman talking about beer? The only beer I've dranken there turned out to be imported. So bite me Straffo. :D
