I downloaded the "omega drivers" for my video card yesterday, and now when I look up, I get a Frame Rate of 230! and it averages around 100fps, which amazingly is higher than my monitor's maximum refresh rate.

The really cool part of that is that I am only running a 64meg card!!!

I highly reccomend the Omega Drivers!!!

Also I have solved a problem for users of GeForce 4 440 video card users, I was having transparent terrain squares on the sides of mountains... apparently if you are using the GeForce 4 card, you have to have your system display set to 32 bit color, that solved a major problem I was having.

The new patch really seemed to help some of the stuttering also.

The Omega drivers come with Vsync turned OFF.  Make sure you go in and turn it back ON, otherwise you get rubber bullet's out the hooha.

Twitchy,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Only problem I have had with AH2 was the invisible terriagn squares. It was driving me nuts. Was trying every combination of tweaks and couldnt fix it.

That simple change from 16 to 32 did it.

Thanks for that bit of info!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, go ahead and download the omega drivers. Just don't install them yet.

Then uninstall everything ATI. I would get a registry cleaner that wipes out all the registry keys from ATI too. (Only do that after you uninstall the ATI drivers and such though)

There is a program out there that will remove all ati drivers.  Its called drivercleaner. Worked fine on my end.

Btw I'm also running the omega's & liking them.

Invisible terrain squares will remain there, IMO these are not driver related.
