The switched to TCP message is from the number 6 down load.  NOTHING to worry about..but u did:( .

Carry on as is.  The omega drivers work well so long as u install them right.  I think u did but part 6 came out same time.

My recommendations are buy a motorcycle and ride it at 100MPH in the rush hour.  This will make PC messages half the worry they once were:aok

ive gotten those TCP messages the last 2 days. I think it might be a server thing. Its just saying its switching to TCP...not UDP. I dont see a problem with that message. I had good connects all day yesterday after seeing it.

Whoever told you to uninstall the old drivers first was the one that did you bad!
The omega drivers build on your default drivers set for your video card, they are not a replacement, but an enhancement..
The only way to get a successful install of the omega drivers is to install the set up file, then once you have them installed, go to your device manager, then display adapter tab, right click your video card then click properties, then the driver tab, once you get there, click update driver, then click "have disk" and choose the location where the omega dirvers were installed and proceed. The driver will pop up a warning that the driver is unsigned, ignore this and proceed.
What messed you up 68 was uninstalling your default drivers, this causes the equivilent a nuclear meltdown. Once you get everything installed it should be fine, just make sure you dont fug around with your old drivers, that was a piece of bad advice, the omega drivers are meant to be an enhancement, not a replacement. If you have any questions make sure you follow the directions that come with the Omega drivers to the letter!
The difference it makes is amazing!

Also, in regards to the vsync option, apparently it causes some problems if you change it form what it is set at, I had to reinstall AH2 today (80meg download on a 56k is like dying) as AH2 wouldn't run once I changed the vsync settings, either way I set it. Not sure why though...

DevilM, Switching to TCP is due to the long load while caching all the textures into system memory.  Once you log in and lose TCP, logout, and come back into the arena.  Works fine for me.  Sucks you had to reformat :)

I got a question?
When installing the omega drivers do I want to pick quality or performance?
I already had the Omega drivers installed on performance and since beta I had been getting a fps betwwen 50 as a low and 170 as a high. With very minor probs and almost no stutters.
But my computer has done a big flip with patch 6. Now I get alot of stutters like everyone else was complaining about before the patch.
I have tried all different types of settings in the game w/ preloading text. graphic detail settings and all the game has to offer. But now I my fps have slid down to average only around 30 fps:( . And as a High I have only seen it reach 70 fps but that's flying way out over the ocean with no one around.
So I was wondering if I need to change the option to quality or what?
Or is any one else having thes problem???

 My sys is as follows:

Emachines T4510
P4 2.53 ghz
512 ddr
GeForce fx 5200 ultra ( with latest Omega drivers avail )
100 gb hardrive
Win xp home

any help would be appreciated

I would say stick with the performance set up on the omega drivers as the "quality" set up will not increase frame rates, but resolution. Vsync has alot to do with the outrageous frame rates I was getting on my first install of the omega drivers, If it is off your frame rate should be amazing, if its on, you might see a signifigant drop in frame rate but according to more than a few players you won't end up with "rubber bullets".

Strange, I always install new Omegas without uninstalling the old stuff, and it works nicely.

Little stabitlity tip for CTDs using omega drivers ( don't think standrard ones have the option).
Use the "Advanced Smartgart Options" in your programs to turn OFF the AGP Write Option.
All it is is error checking.
Leave the Read option on.
Found this trawling through various BBs.
Used to run vsynch off - 540fps looking straight up!

Interesting... because I always uninstall ATI Driver, Control Panel, and Uninstall Utility in that order.  Unplug computer from router and reboot to Safe mode, cancel out of install wizards, run Cab Cleaner, run Driver Cleaner 3, reboot, cancel out install wizards, insatall new Cats or Omegas, plug puter back into router and reboot. ALWAYS works great for me.

The Omegas contain a version of Driver Cleaner making it unecessary to do it yourself, but the Readme says you may run Driver Cleaner yourself if you like.
