Need help with my TQS
« on: July 18, 2004, 05:27:37 PM »
I have a problems with my throttle working with my F-16 TQS.  I have tried both 2-axis 2 buttons and 3-axis 2 buttons joystick setting in gaming options, both settings get about the same results.

Yes, I have gone into controls/joystick/calibrate joystick and did all of that, but in the graph their insn't a vertical line representing the throttle [used to be] .. consequently I have to goose the throttle to get any power or use [shudder] the keyboard.

This is a copy of program in my QAH.M50 file:

REM AnalogThrottle
REM @DigitalThrottle = THR 1 20 1 = - F10 F10 p p
    @DigitalThrottle = THR 1 22 1 = - p p = =

I could use some help ... want to get back into playing AH.

PS: My throttle work ok untill I went into my TQS file and made some changes, minor ones like mapping "t" to transmit to squad instead of Roger Wilco .. stuff like that ... and then poof, this morning.... no throttle.  No throttle - no game.

Thanks

Hi Sprint,

Don't know if it will help... but here is what I use for my .f22 file. works well for me and I have WEP set as the last detent.

THR 1 0 1 ^ ^ THROTTLE_FULL  p p THROTTLE_FULL
USE ABSET 0               REM this defines throttle foward and back you may have to change for you set up.
USE MTSET 240

in your .m22 file you will need to have:

WEP =  /N p
THROTTLE_FULL = SHF =
Null = ^

I would think it's the same... Been awhile from the last time I did any Thrustmaster programming tho :(

My set up is for a SWF22 pro with a SWTQS ( Bob Church's Sticky chips ) but I would think it would work for a SWF-16 and SWTQS ( you do have the sticky chips in right? )

Anyway, don't delete any of your files texts lines, just use the " REM " ( no quotation marks ) in front of any line of text you what to hide from the loader, Then cut and paste the new ones next to it. If it doesn't work you can remove the new line of text, and the REM command from your old line and it's back to the way it was.

Also some times all you have to do to get a joystick file to run is take a space out in front of, or in back of a line of text. look for odd spaces in front of the lines of text.. I have no idea how the get there.

No, I dont have Church's sticky chips ... I'm still using a PDPI L4 Gameport, which I'm happy with.

However the comment about "spaces' might be it ... its always something simple that is over looked.  I'll check in a few minutes after I do a few things around the house and mix myself a drink.  I'm in "I hate life mode" so a stiff drink might help.

Thank you for your time and trouble

I forgot to ask .. do we use the 3-axiz/2 buttons or the 2-axis/2 buttons set up in Gaming Options?

I give up on this.  Now I cant load even my basic program which I had for years.  I get an error saying that my  analog  ANT is missing a command and wont load ... this is after I had the brilliant idea of download a test file to clear everything and reload but now it wont let me load my B50 file ... so cant fly at all.

Never mind .. I was going to fuss some more but f***k it ..my days of flying after years of flying is over.

Sorry to hear that, :(

These old Thrustmaster sticks are getting to be antiques, and no one wants to work with them any more.

If you do decide to look into it further, it could be a hardware problem. Given that you just loaded a known working program to controller, and it would not see the ANT I'd look at the TQS to see if the wires are all intact, and I would check and clean the pots when I was in there.

I'm not saying that's going to work ether, but your alternative is to buy a new stick.

good luck
