Members of the Albany Police Department Honor Guard were harassed and spit on by a few people as they carried flags into Tuesday's Democratic state convention at Pepsi Arena, officials said.

What kind of low life maggot can stoop so low as to spit on a police officer (regardless of political views)?

Isn't this an assault? Don't you get jailed for that?

Somewhere your education (or lack thereof) failed you.  America is a liberal democracy.

Nice try at a personal attack because you don't agree with the issues, but playing with words is as old as the dinosaurs within a debate.  I used liberal amounts of pancake syrup this morning, does that mean that the syrup protested? Don't think so.

I'm not a liberal, you tool.  And the fact that you seem absolutely incapable of seeing the bias inherent in a "news" site that features such headlines as "Christian book passes Clinton on yet another list" and "Clinton's devastating 'Intelligence Failure'" marks you as either blindly partisan or a fool.  Take your pick.

Please tell us of the source of your education in political philosophy?  I suspect it consists of talk radio and not much else.

Liberal democracy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Liberal democracy is a form of representative democracy in which majority rule is qualified by respect for liberal rights such as freedom of speech and assembly, freedom of religion, the right to private property and privacy, as well as equality before the law and due process under the rule of law, and else.

Such rights are guaranteed through various institutions and statutory laws in order to protect the rights of individuals and minorities from the 'tyranny of the majority'.

Australia,Canada, the member states of the European Union, Iceland, New Zealand, Norway and the United States are all examples of liberal democracy (though of course it is sometimes argued that none is perfect with respect to the above rights).

If you don't like Ronstadt, don't listen to her music. You don't like Moore don't see his film. But to agree with the rioting crowd because you don't like her views is wrong.

To put this into perspective consider this. I don't like something Ripsnort says about Kerry. I get mad and take it out on Rip by destroying Boeing property and keying his BMW.

Is that the "American" way to handle that situation? NO, it is not. Boycott, protest, ask for your money back or write a letter to the editor, but destroying property (that does not even belong to LR) is just an illegal act. Trying to justify it because there was politics involved just drags those involved lower into the mud.

For all of you throwing away your Linda Ronstadt recordings, let me help. Send them to me. Make sure you include the album with her, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris. I still love her work and America, you lemmings.
