Who hid the g6?

The G6 wasnt hid

search batz 109G6 or Gruenherz 109G6.

We have been telling folks for years its a damn fine plane.

It forces you to fight rather then just run climb repeat.

Its the best 109 in the game for those who enjoy fighting rather then runnign or "pull stick into belly"

Here's a break down of the 109 speeds as tested in AH2:

Quote
109E-4 100% fuel 2 x 20mm / MGFF 60 RPG, fuel mod set to lowest value.

SL

Military Power – SL 37.6 MP @ 2400 RPM = 285 MPH
Emergency Power – SL 40.5 MP @ 2400 RPM = 292 MPH

5k

Military Power – 5000 FT 37.6 MP @ 2400 RPM = 304 MPH
Emergency Power – 5000FT 40.5 MP @ 2400 RPM = 311 MPH

10K

Military Power – 10000 FT 37.6 MP @ 2400 RPM = 323 MPH
Emergency Power – 10000 FT 40.5 MP @ 2400 RPM = 330 MPH

15K

Military Power – 15000 FT 37.6 MP @ 2400 RPM = 341 MPH
Emergency Power – 15000 FT 40.5 MP @ 2400 RPM = 344 MPH

MP falls off drastically at 20k. WEP adds no MP boost but the E-4 gains about 3 mph.

20K

Military Power – 20000 FT 32 MP @ 2400 RPM = 329 MPH
Emergency Power – 20000 FT 32 MP @ 2400 RPM = 332 MPH

22.5K

Military Power – 22500 FT 28.5 MP @ 2400 RPM = 320 MPH
Emergency Power – 22500 FT 28.5 MP @ 2400 RPM = 323 MPH

Quote
Bf 109F-4 100% fuel 1 x 20mm / MG 151 200 rpg, fuel mod set to lowest value.

SL

Military Power – SL 38.9 MP @ 2500 RPM = 310 MPH
Emergency Power – SL 42.2 MP @ 2700 RPM = 332 MPH

5k

Military Power – 5000 FT 38.9 MP @ 2500 RPM = 328 MPH
Emergency Power – 5000FT 42.2 MP @ 2700 RPM = 350 MPH

I never flew the G10 so I dont care what it does. BTW the AH G10 is really a K-4 with a 20mm option. Pyro stated this in another thread.

As you can see even the F-4 is faster depending on the alt.

Wanna learn how to fly and fight in a 109 fly the G-6.

I've been flying the G6 for a couple of days now, and it's become my favorite ride by far.

My favorite tactic is a Mid-alt drop (about 7k feet), then I make a series of passes on enemy fighters. It works very well, especially on the La-7's, N1K's, and Spits that usually fly at about 1k feet.

A few days ago, I tried this tactic with the 109E4. I managed to land 4 victories, and I got almost 20 points out of it (19.82). No damage, by the way :aok .

All 109s are best flown as Energy fighters - using their high climb rate to dictate the engagement. Normal Boom & Zoom tactics with very high-speed passes do not suit the 109's style. It is better suited to the style of energy combat where the main objective is to set up a moderate altitude advantage (2 or 3 k) right over or near the target. Then use short sprint dives with moderate closure rates for gun passes. The 109 can then climb back out and loop or climb away as necessary.

To improve deflection shooting the player should unload his g's. The best was way is to pick a point where you think the enemy will be and pull hard to that point then release pressure on the stick. As the enemy moves from under you nose, fire.

Trying to pull lead through a turn while firing will just waste ammo. The enemy will stay below your nose making aiming difficult. The 109s have a decent instantaneous turn rate initially. This gives you a brief opportunity to pull lead. By unloading your g's you will have a straight shot as the enemy rises above your nose. If you miss you can go up and yo yo etc and drop back in.

Flying the G-6 in this fashion is a lo of fun, it doesn’t take climbing out to 25k and doing high speed bore and ZZZ and it doesn’t mean "turn fighting".  With a wingman this tactic can help run up good kill streaks for both you. While 1 guy is in 1 guy is on top switching in and out to keep even the most nimble fight off balance.

The G-6 won’t out climb most planes like the G-10 so when zooming with a enemy chasing make a vertical spiral as you go up. Gradually tighten the spiral. As the enemy zooms up he will need to pull more lead to get off a shot. Most of the time he ends up stalling or diving away realizing he’s about to get roped.

Now la7s and such will dive away and be gone if you wait to long to reverse. By practicing you can learn to anticipate what’s happening and be able drop back in before the enemy builds speed and extends away.

Last night Scot and I were flying G-14s vs. p51s, Jugs and Spits in AEP. The same vertical spiral that I describe above works very in AEP. It works well with p51s as well.

for me, the 109f4 is the best mix.... its got power, it can turn, and roll well... gondolas dont seem to make it lose too much speed

g6 is just a heavy g2....dont really like it that much.

i fly

60% 109f4 always with gondolas (oh and that white skin rocks!)
20% 109g2 with and without gondolas
10% 109g6 without gondolas and i use the 30s mostly, sometimes the 20s...
10% 109g10 without gondolas.

unless buff hunting of corse, then i take the biggest ammo load possible.

Agreed, only the fact that a g6 has the ability to carry the 30mm. My aim sucks so I like the 30mm to do all the dirty work for me :D

I like all the 109's.

They all have character and you need to know how to exploit them.

Momma always said like is like a box of 109's....you never know which one your gonna fly.

The gondolas seem to create less drag now. Still effect low speed handling.

The 30mm is my weapon of choice, but right now, returning to the game after a long hiatus....im lucky if I can hit the side of a barn.

Just make sure you tell everyone how hard they are to fly and how they stink....it's nice to be flying an exclusive.

I havent flown the G6 much lately, I'm la, spit and panzer 4 dweebing a lot lately because my computer has been having problems so i want everything to be easy and thougtless.

But I can honestly say that I've rarely had more fun in AH then when I flew the G6 a lot and especially so just with the single 20mm and 2 13mm gun combo. The 30mm is awesome and is the best choice overall yet for some reason I really loved the single 20mm loadout, and when fired in concert with 13mm it's quite powerful armament. And dont take the gondolas. :)

I think I love the 20mm because of this fascinating drawing, it just looks so sinister as does the picture.

Anyway the G6 is the classic 109 and the greatest fighter ever. :)
