I take it you got the lil' black gift card in the mail.  Our family took up the offer and other than shoddy customer service when there was a mix-up in billing it seems to be just as good as any other satellite service.

If you get a lot of storms/clouds in your area it may not be the best option, but I guess thats true with any satellite.

Well bring on 500 channels and nothing on! :D  Seriously, its great to know you have 100+ channels at your fingertips, but realistically you'll only watch about 15 of those on a regular basis.

Wonder if they have a 20 channel plan for 5.99 a month? I'm sure that would sell!

Dish Network rocks. You even get SerriusSattelite radio if you chose too.

Even has games and trivia, if you subscribe to PlayJam.  Golf was free a few days ago.lol

The DVR in itself is worth it, it changes the way you watch TV

Can you get "Discovery Wings?"  My cable provider doesn't "provide" that channel.  Is it worth the cost of satellite dish installation?

DirecTV has a wee bit better sports package.  All depends on what you watch, I'll never go back to cable.  I've had our Dish for 5 years, love it.

MT, if ya decide to go with it let me know before you do! I can get $5 a month off my bill for the referral. If ya do the Club Dish thing right you will not have a bill at all. :D

Dish Network is great!

I have directv.....I LOVE IT.  They did overbill me one month but then credited the next.  Every customer service person I've talked to spoke really good English.  I rarely ever have an outage.

I can go to Directv.com and order payperview and it is almost instant.  (dont have a phoneline near the RX)

I'm not too fond of dishnetwork.....just a personal preference...hell they may be the same company nowadays.
