Santa, look what you've gone and done here! Even WD is dissin' the 109.   Oh well, I forgive, I know these pony pilots are some of the best, and they know how to hurt you. I might even take up the pony for a sortie or two.

I flew a heavy P47 last night, killed a couple acks, a hangar, then killed a couple of planes. I soon discovered the P47 was as heavy on the deck as it oughta be (not like last version). What a challenge! Can't do all that in my G10.

LW pilots are superior and win in outclassed aircraft!

As I thought; the allied dweebs are getting desperate, attacking 109's.

I'm an a8 driver now, so that stuff can't hurt me.

Poor little 51 runstangs.

I find the P51 difficult to use one on one in a close-in fight against G10s.  Ten times out of ten, the G10 goes vertical and usually wins (against me) with a better engine, tremendous rudder capability and vastly more potent armament.  This is why I prefer to fight them on my terms.  Usually from above and with superior numbers.  Speed is tricky and less useful since the G10 can outpace a lone 51 extending.  All other 109s dont seem to cause too much trouble.

190s arent a problem.

I've found that the easiest planes to kill in the p51 are those that don't roll well at high speed.  Usually you can land a few hits with the anemic 50 cal, but then the bogey will start scissoring like crazy.  The planes that can't roll well (109, spit, p38) are usually unable to break away before the 50s have done serious damage to them.  The problem is that 109g10s can climb away from you if you don't get them on the first pass.  I'll usually continue to push the fight very aggressively, since they hold all the important advantages if you mess up on the bounce.  190s I'll fight co-e without hesitation, all they can do is out gun and out roll you.  If you can manage to slow down and let them scissor to their heart's content without overshooting them, they usually go down without too much trouble.  The N1k and Zero can give a p51 driver fits.  (At least me.)  If they are not alone and are paying attention, they can always evade your passes.  (This is when I wish I were flying a Yak or La5 so I could have an acceleration advantage.)

I have great respect for pilots who do well in the 190 and 109.  The 190 takes forever to get good altitude, and the 109 has little ammo and tricky handling.  The successful LW drivers are, if anything, far more patient than I could ever be.  (At least with the p51 when you make a mistake your tail or radiator is lost with the first ping.   )  I still believe the 109g10 is probably the best plane in the game, if flown correctly.  Like the p51, a patient pilot can get out of a fight if they wish.  In the 109s case though, usually they will have an advantage in altitude and can come back down and kill you.  In the p51 you would have to run ... *um* "extend" (range advantage helps here   ) until the enemy loses interest in you.  If you still have fuel you can then climb up, and come back again.

Ok, I'm done rambling.

RAM; I never called 190A8 drivers sissy; I called them suicidal.

To a spaniard like you I bet the two sound similar. And with your machoism, sissy = suicide  .

StSanta,

Not all pony drivers run.  I upped this morning in a pony from a base that was being attacked by a B17 covered by a niki and a P51.  I killed all three AND I was under E to them all the time.

PS Bring on the Luftwobble planes any day... More targets <duck and cover>

Nice troll Santa. <S!>

Truth is; I fly like crap. I get into places only my Bimbo Babe can pull me outta. Usually I just have to wait fer the other guy to mess up and then take a pound of flesh on my way outta dodge.

Sadly; with the pilot quality increasing so fast lately, my pound of flesh is being given; not taken.

*sigh* Guess I'll have to start hangin around in the TA to get a kill.

Oh, BTW Santa; yer slave built A8 is history should I find you AFK, takin a dump in the next room, with the sound off and I get three passes.

Tell Nath I log now when i see him on line. (hehehhehhe)

Boooohooooo, i just cry when an enemy uses the strengths of their planes - thats just not fair. DWEEEEB!!! I hate all those 109s that 'just spiral climb up to saftey' or 'out climb me' - boooohoooo...

Come on Santa, P51 pilots dont have all the same options a 109 pilot does and vice-versa. 109s cant run from ponies, ponies cant climb with 109s. I dont start a thread abusing 109 pilots cause they use their superior climb rate to win the day.

I recall many a very good fight me vs you (pony vs 109) you climb when you're in trouble, i have to use the speed of the pony - same thing.

BIG <SALUTE> to all the die-hard-core P51 fanatics who stick with it through thick and thin irrespective of the latest uber dweeb ride - you know who you are.
