Greetings,
This is weird. I've had three CTD's and a complete system hang this morning. Three things very weird about this:
#1 I havn't had a CTD or Host connection lost in a very LONG time
#2 I flew for 5 hours straight last night, on squad night, with out ANY problems.
#3 NOTHING changed from last night, except I got some sleep. Computer hadn't been restarted, all I did was read E-mail and Newsgroups, then closed them and went to Fly AH this AM.
First CTD went like this:
In B17, bombed V46 VH, was told there were GV's on ground. Switched to "Ground vis Mode" (shift-F4), rear gun, then zoomed in all the way. System froze for a good 90 seconds, then "Host connection lost" and bang to desktop.
Restarted AH, went to A45, grabbed Goon, got within in Visual range of V46, zoomed in all the way to look for GV's and Complete system hang. (IE no responce from 'caps-lock or Num-Lock keyboard lights, CTRL-AlT-Delete). Waited for a long time, nothing happened. Finally powered system off, which is first time in MONTHS that the power been off. Had a few system reboots, but rarely turn the power off.
Once system was back up, Launched AH, went to Vid setup, and changed texture cache to 256 from 512 (mostly to rebuild plane cache)
Logged into AH, Launched B17 from base south of V46. Got airborne, went to front gun site, external view, and zoomed all the way in. System hung again for 90 seconds +/- then "host connection lost", CTD.
Logged Back into AH, repeated above, with same results.
In all four of today's CTD's and single hang, they happened right after selecting "full zoom view".
The oddiest part of all, is I flew several B17s, Ponies, etc last night on squad night, using Full Zoom in all 4 view modes (Long, Med, Short, Ground) with no problems. I enjoyed a normal 5 straight hours of blissfull AH. (as usual).
Not sure what to do now... Below is a link to my DxDiag.txt file (not that it should matter..)
