wile watching the tour of france i see many traffic circles(round-a -bouts) on two lane roads, are they common in europe? i do not see many in the USA, we just stick up stop signs.

BTW beautiful country france

They're very common indeed in Britain. They're comparatively rare in France.

Depend of the region Qts , in the loire valley there is plenty of it.


Not to make and touristic advertisement for France but we have the luck to have a pretty diverse landscape on a small country.
In fact I thing with have the almost same diversity as the US but in a very smaller place.

Quite true... From Normandy to the Côte d'Azur to the Alps and the Atlantic coast... France pretty much has it all. Only thing missing I think is the prairies. But ya kinda have that too...

they are everywhere in britain.  in fact, a while ago i remember a newspaper article taking the piss out of americans because of something ridiculous like 400 accidents had taken place at this one small round-a-bout because it was the first introduced to a certain area, and no one knew what the hell to do with it.

hmmm... I don't think we have the equivalent as almost all the flat part are under cultivation for corn and wheat.
