What I notice a FP doing once it has spawned near a base is simply to tie up assests.
You can spawn and re-spawn very close to the action. If no one comes out to defend it the VH goes first etc etc...
The real burn of the attacking FP is that it uses more assests to deal with it than itself. For example, if one FP (1 player} is attacking a field may tie up 3-4 players needed to defend against it.
That is 3-4 players not available for other means of making "play" war.
