Last time I checked Modelo didnt mean man in Spanish, but think whatever you want.  I spent 24 years of my life in deep south Texas about 30 miles from Brownsville....I have forgotten more Spanish than you have ever known.

Fresh Corona is really nice for a summer beer.

I buy it in the big cardboard box that is sealed against light (contains 4 6packs) and drink it before it really sees any light so I never had a problem with skunkyness.

I find if you buy beer in the US in 7-11 in clear glass bottles that can be a problem some times.

I used to put lime in the neck but now prefer it without. I am not in to all the pretenous micro brewery crap. When you make hundreds of thousands of liters at a time you better know what you are doing.

I just got back from 8 days in Mexico, overall mexican beer is pretty bad. The only one I actually care for is "Negra Modelo".

I drank Corona back in college (1982-86) because it was $1.99 a six pack, it was considered (rightly so) to be a cheap beer, but I could afford it. Ironically both it and Shiner Bock (it was $2.99 per 6-pack back then) were raised up to "premium" ststus by its popularity with college drinkers duing the '90s. I laugh every time I see Shiner Bock listed as "premium"...LOL.

Yah, the day they raised the price of Shiner was the last day I drank one.  It was WORTH 2.99, it isn't worth 5.99.

Cerveza is a feminine case Spanish noun.  la cerveza= negra

It is the name of the beer, it has to correspond with the noun gender.   All Mexican and Spanish beers, cervezas, are feminine nouns because of this, and all proper nouns dealing with beer have to correspond with the noun case.

It's why they stuff the lime down the neck.... stifles the stench some.

Actually, that keeps the flies from landing on the bottle.
