Head bounce: Does it affect you?
« on: October 13, 2000, 12:05:00 PM »
Curiously, I too disliked the 'head bounce' effect that imitates what a fighter pilot would see in a real a/c, but after a few weeks of flying, I forgot all about it.

Does it affect you?

Do you like it, dislike it, or forgotten all about it? (Adjusted)

I like it, it suits my evasive style (low g rolling manuevers) well since a pursuing aircraft has more trouble to pull Gs and aim, and it generally feels more realistic to me, so much so that fixed view position games seem very odd to fly now

Didn't know it was there 'till that earlier thread pointed it out. I've been meaning since then to go and try to see it but I keep forgetting to. Uhm... I guess that answers your question.

Btw... Even though it isn't some overt effect, I bet it goes a long way to adding to the immersion. Subconsciously, I would think that you *do* notice it... if that makes sense.

Er....let me put it this way. I'd be willing to bet that if HTC quietly pulled this out of the sim one day... You'd notice immediately.

Agreed, Nash. Kind of like ambient noise in a room- you don't notice when it is there, but you sure do when it's gone.

Noticed it when I first played AH. I liked it a lot. Still do.. Notice it only when I'm not in combat and I think it's the neatest thing.
