I Would just like to suggest in giving each country their own different colour, so that we could better distinguish them better.  For an example:    Air Warrior,  Az were Blue,    Bz were Red,    and Cz were Green.  Those were the stock colours, but could be changed by Individual People to what ever colour they would like.  I would like so see this.

I like Red. Simple yet  surprisingly sophisticated.

Would make it easier for those unwarrented treaties and alliances between sides or squads from two countries working together against a commmon foe (usually bish)

When I started fling in 1995, in Air Warrior Classic, the Az were Blue.  They started to phaze them to yellow around 1998-1999, when Air Warrior 3d came out.  Of course, if I'am wrong plz reply, because that is what i remeber from AW.

Is there a reason why this hasn't been done? Three colours sounds like a great idea and if there are no negative effects to gameplay please consider doing this. Thank you :)

I believe the reason is because we have the chess piece icon to go with the icon. I don't remember exactly, but I don't think AW icons had a country indicator symbol with the icon, thus necessitating the need for different color.

I do think it might help somewhat to have different colors, however. Not sure, but I've been in 3-country fights before, where I have "helped" (for example only) a bish by clearing a knight, only to have that same bish firing at me moments later, even though several other knights were still in the fight. I would think that the bish would want to concentrate on the knights, so we could both work together to get away from them who had more numbers. Perhaps he didn't notice the country and just saw that my icon was the same color. Maybe if my icon was a different color he would have shot at the knights instead.

What purpose would it serve. What difference would it make if I were a Knight and there are Bish and Rook in the same fight. They both are gonna try and kill me so I try and do the same.

Just kill all the red guys ... simple.

I agree with you Slapshot, it doesn't really matter in fights. What I think people would like to see is what's going on in the grand scheme of things with a quick glance of the map.

I think this would be of particular benefit to newer players who continually ask "where's the fight?" "where am I needed?" "where are you guys?" :rofl

A three colour map in addition to the country icons, would help them see these things more easily as they can instantly indentify who's who and what they're doing or trying to do.

A couple examples for two different playing styles (which applies to all countries) that can benefit. First example: Some Knights are looking at the map and can see that there is a Bishop/Rook front in 1 or 2 sectors that will help them get in on some action or maybe stir something up if nothing is going on.
Second example: Some Rooks looking at the map can see that defense is needed in the South to counter the Bishops who are making a push which may not be that noticeable in a sea of red (if they're using the default colours) when the other two sides are not fighting there at the moment.

Of course if a player prefers two colours that option is still available to them. Besides, a three colour map would simply be be better looking (look at the pretty map!) :D

I miss the old 3 color idea. Back when I played AW the above mentioned situation Midnight spoke of happened to me. I was Cz and an Az also happened to be there. We were surrounded by a bunch of Bz so naturally we teamed up. We both got a few kills and then left/ran. On the way to our bases we gave each other a and landed. It was actually a lot of fun. I will say however that AW was much different than AH and now that same guy is as likely to kill you just to get one more kill before he bites it himself:(

In AW3 you could designate the color for each country as a preference. That would be a nice feature in AH.
