Some of us remember when there were no spawn arrows. Less spawn camping occurred cause if u wanted to set up at the spawn you had to find it.
Any group camping a spawn can be beaten by an opposing group determined to spawn in.
The most I have landed was 115 in a tiger. I was set up some distance from the spawn at about seven oclock. It was during a fierce fight over a base, side I was on outnumbered and rolled back ... trying stem tide and defense happened to stiffen at that base. Took about 15-20 minutes to get the kills, maybe less. Pulled out during brief lull and got lucky by not getting bombed on drive back to the field.
Generally, if I am at a spawn point, it is because I fought my way out to it. I do not play tanks defensively. I stay on the move and attack forward. When I get to the spawn point I stop.
At places where spawn points converge, ya just fight over the spawn point. Got 1000 kills in a week at v35 on trinity once. We just went at it. Died lots too that week.
I dont sit around killing time at spawn points, and I spawn into campt places and fight my way in. That's what separates people who like the fast action from those who are concerned about their stats. Lost 20 or 30 tanks at the same spot Jaxxo was talking about ... a few hours later same day. Then we spawned in even numbers and killed them. Unfortunately, the nme didnt want to fight anymore and the battle ended. And that permitted us to roll gvs in and take down town and capture the base with gvs and air cover. Most times the fights I get into are when we are contending over a base.
GVs are more useful to take down towns than they were in AH1. GV play is much more fun with the new terrain.
