If i was teh boss at HTC
« on: June 07, 2001, 05:44:00 PM »
heres what would be on the plate for 1.08  :)

aircraft
---------
Tu-2
Peggy
T-34/76
a battleship
Yak-9D
P-38H
Spitfire LF.IX
Bf-109 G6 w/mw50

fixes/additions
------------------

-fix invulnerale VH ack

-add high fidelity ship damage models (as in current armored vehicles, able to damage individual parts)

-take a look at aircraft damage model (IMO not enough fires are started now , and tooo many kills come from de winging or de tailing)

-improve special FX (add better explosions from bombs, large caliber weapons from ships, rockets etcera -- watch the thunderbolt movie or scenes of ships firnig the big guns with all the smoke and light and stuff) -- same with tanks, would like to see more light and smoke when firing - mabye make improved special effects an option for those who have the sys req for it since it doesnt really affect gameplay, just candy.

- steal the ww2 online icon system

id be in love with AH then  :)

Na how bout a YAK-3 intstead of YAK-9D wait Yak-9D would be sort of an addition so we should get both and 109G6 w/mw50 would alos be addon.

Aircraft fires would be cool.  Maybe multiple hits by cannon fire or tracers on parts that have fuel in them could cause a fire in addition to the fuel leak?  The fire would then cause more damage over time?  Armor and self-sealing tanks would increase the amount of damage required to start the fire, and hitting an external fuel tank could nearly always result in the ext tank catching fire.  Let the fire burn, more damage is caused.  Jettison a burning fuel tank or use high speed sideslips or something to blow out other fires could minimize the other damage.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

the whole dewinging detailing dweebiness is a bit arcadish.

the vulnerable parts were fuel, pilot and ammo. they were the weak links that would destroy the aircraft.

i think that fire should also melt the control cables on aircraft.

i seen one too many flaming a6m5s desperately seeking a kill before they loose a wing to the fire started by their fuel tanks being hit. pilot should black out too

pyromaniacs at heart need to see lots of fire when they shoot at stuff. the whole plane falling apart from a few bullets instead of turning into a ball of fire from a few well placed bullets then slowly self destructing is just not satisfying. in fact its downright anticlimactic.

right pyro?
you of all people should understand  :D

I like em zig but no new LW stuff?

If i was the boss  1.08 would get you :

for the jerrys:

Me410A-1/U2 (4,409lb bombload) OR Ju87D-1 OR
Do-217M-1 (heavier bomber with 8,818lb bombload)

for the yanks:

Curtiss P40N OR
P51H (if it saw action. i think it did?)
Sherman M4

for the japs:

Mitsubushi G4M3 model 34 'betty'

for the italians:

Savoia-Marchetti SM82 Canguru (8,818lbs bombs) was also used mainly as a transport  so it could be also used as a troop carrier for AXIS powers.
Regianne Re.2005 sagittario(med perk production incredibly small      :()

for the ruskis:

what ever bomber the russian plane lovers want.I have no idea about russian planes      :)  OR
T-34

for the game:

trains and bridges, supply depots
bombs made less accurate but blast radius increased to make salvo the only option of a sure hit.Somehow incorperate more targets like ship yards or aircraft factories (that are heavily defended but really affect aircraft availability if hit bad).

how popular would this be I wonder?
obviously i put too many in but hey if im the boss noone gets any time off     :D

Hazed-,

Nothing for the RAF?    :(

My choices:

Me420A Hornise

J2M3 Raiden "Jack"

Ki67 Hiryu "Peggy"

Tu-2

SM.82 Canguru

Mosquito FB.MkVI Series 2

T-34/76

Panther V

Setup a system where each nation has 3 cities and a factory for each unit in the game.  Divide the factories evenly between the cities and randomly assign what unit each factory is responsible for each time a reset occurs.  Factories would take 6,000lbs of bombs to destroy and would remain down for a length of time determined by testing, but I'm thinking half an hour.  While a factory is in a destroyed condition, or in enemy territory, the unit that it is responsible for cannot be selected in the hangar.  The factories would be heavily defended with enough AA to make fighter have a very rough time taking one down.  Bombers would gain the ability to drop all of their bombs at once, not like the He111 style we have now.  Add in bomb straying.

Nmd, should read all of the above before I post.  Hazed answered my questions.  Yeah, Let's have a HE111, Betty, the heavy German bomber, Stuka and the heavy Italian bomber.

There still are fires in AH. Last night when my tiffie's fuel tank got hit, I was a blazing torch as I plummeted to the ground.
