Tumor’s post in Bhodi’s thread about screwed up Florida elections, yet again, got me to thinking: is there a provable correlation between oceanfront property and the influx of the artsey-fartsey crowd (liberal utopians). I mean, look at the evidence: California has arguably some of the most beautiful coastline in the world and it’s a veritable haven for nut-ball, tree-hugging, SUV-burning, if-it-feels-good-do-it utopians. Same can be said for most of the coastline of Florida (but mainly the Atlantic side). And let us not overlook the entire east coast of the U.S., especially the northeast. Libs flock to these places in such numbers, and with such determination, to the exclusion of most other types. (I don’t know what other types, just non-utopians, in general).
I think it’s because the call of the sea is stronger in liberals/ utopians. Probably because they are more in touch with their inner selves, and thus can feel the pull of their primal birthplace (the sea) calling to them. I say to you utopians: do not resist the voices within. Go home. Let the Mother Sea embrace you. Only by returning to the womb of the sea can you truly find peace for all time. Listen to your brother dolphins: it’s what they’ve been trying to communicate to you all these years.
Anyway…that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
