Well I'm gonna get a PCI card for my computer and wanted to know if this is a good card, Chaintech Nvidia Geforce FX5200 128MB 128-bit....? If anyone knows of a better 128mb PCI card let me know.

Dextry, I know a few folk that have that card and are playing fine on it. I've heard numerous accounts of FPS and I can only give an estimate as to what I have heard. 35-40 FPS is the average, but have also heard accounts of it being higher. In any case it does run AH2. I'm not to keen on really good PCI cards, I'll leave that open for someone else.

I fly with that card. Its a good price and will play AHII well. However I strongly suggest you get one that is AGP if you have the slot. But I get about 60 frames max with it. In the worst cases it drops to about 14 FPS. Im about to upgrade though because my system is an XP 2000+ with 512 DDR and my video card is holding me back. Im going to buy a 5700 LE, which I hear is 10 times as good as the 5200.

I recommend it if you REALLY want to play and are tight on dough. But you won't be impressed by any means with the frame rates.

That's the best PCI card you can get for AH.  The ATI 9200 PCI is probably a bit faster in most other games but at $90 it's too expensive for a bottom of the line card.  Tom's Hardware rates most of the video cards made but none of the PCI cards, which are slower than their AGP counterparts.  There is no point making a PCI card faster than the FX5200 or 9200 since the PCI bus would become the limiting factor.  You could save your money, buy a new mobo and a FX 5700 or ATi 9600 class card.

I was wondering since  PCI slots  share eachother  would a PCI video card go any faster if that is the only thing in all of the PCI slots?
