Ver 1.01 Graphics Engine Improvements

Thx for all the input but I do believe it has something to do with what HTC did to improve Frame rate. Since the problem started right after that patch and I didn't change anything on my machine before and after the patch. I had smooth play before now it's pretty crappy in tight furballs.

Torque, I too have noticed this and did some test.

1: it only is noticable in forward veiw.
2: choppy forward veiw while doing barrelroll, and maintaining 70 Frame rate.
3: it is intermitant, and has no constant. ( sometimes it's choppy, other times not)

I didn't post this earlier because I had to remember how to do it.  Here is how to get the little modem icon in the systray to disapear:

You must be in Windows Explorer (not Powerdesk or some such substitute)

Go to Dial Up Networking:  Desktop/My Computer/Dial Up Networking

You will see along the top edge of the screen a pull down menu called "Connections"

Pull it down and select "Settings"

Uncheck "Show an icon on taskbar after connected"

That's it.

We don't know yet, but HT is suspecting that this problem is now happening when frame-rates are surpassing monitor refresh rates.  If anyone can verify this, it would be very helpful.

It depends on your video card capabilites.
But usually if you right mouse click on your desktop, choose properties, go to the settings tab there should be a choice there.
If not it might be under and 'advanced' button on the settings page itself.
If not there you might not have the selection choice or it might be under another tab in your diplay properties. It might have the vid card manufacturers name on the tab like Diamond or 3dFx...

Torque, unless you have a very very old monitor it should do more than 60Mhz.

One thing most people forget to do, is load the correct driver for their monitor, while concentrating on having the correct driver for your video card.

Check control panel and in "Display", make sure it on the left hand side about half way down, it says "Montior Brand/model" with "XXX video card".  If it says "Plug and Play" or "VGA Monitor" or something like that, you need the correct specific monitor driver most likely.

Example (mine says): Princeton EO90 Monitor on a NVidia GeForce 256 Card.

If it says:  Plug & Play monitor on a NVidiaGeforce 256 Card.

It would mean I have the correct video driver, but a generic monitor driver.

Hope that helps.
