I am continuously surprised and taken aback by what I've seen in this game for almost two years now. I thought most guys, when faced with overwhelmimg odds in their favor, after a while, would swap countries like, say, in the main arena to help out the other side. Yet this never happens it seems, unless I have some part in it.

Same old thing with the RUMBLE 2001. My squaddies had expressed interest in flying allied, which would have been cool with me. But as always, the Luftwaffe is short on numbers, so, after an email from Nash, we decided The Assassins would be flying Luftwaffe again, which is no big deal. I decided to go to Nash's website and check the roster, and see who all we would be facing, and who all would be our wingies.

Good grief people. When are you guys going to realize you are not John Wayne? He made some good movies and I loved him, but he is dead. I can understand the guys who like allied planes; who are in allied squads, etc. But most of you old hats oughta be ashamed of yourself, but hey, when I get killed by 5 of you fighting over my G10, you can pat yourselves on the back and fantasize....

Hmmm...I guess I should now dedicate myself to fly with the LuftWhiners for this event.  Its the best way that I can help the Allies out and insure that I will be able to fly.   :D

Hmmmm dilemmas dilemmas dilemmas...

On the one side, we have those rutabagas the "FDBs".... on the other side we have those panzy assed fruit cake queers the ASSassins...

What's a straight man to do these days?

I'll start my own country and call it RUSSIA and beat both sides into the ground!!!

The MA dynamic of one side being pummeled for long periods of time is one thing.
People not wanting to fly lw is another.
What was once a somewhat comical representation of German AC fans as LuftWobbles has become a stereo type as LuftWhiners.
There is a stigma attatched to it and people dont want to have it attatched to them.(that is the purpose of such things)
The map might be making people think twice to. It looks very complex and made me wonder what the aim was? If its intention is to even out the performance differences of the G10 vs the Pony then I would rather fly pony.

I joined Allied because I didn't want to fight against Nim and Curly... I'd fly LuftWeenie otherwise, just so I could shoot Animal's parachute.

I'm waiting to hear from fellow **MOL** squaddies but we may be able to take some of the slack with the Axis rides.

p.s.  if you look at the Allied roster you will see many hanldles who fly LW iron predominatley in the MA. I find it a little strange they did not sign up for an Axis ride for the Rumble.  <shrug>

Dang Hblair!  If I was subscribin, I'd be a flyin that LW iron. Still to early!  There are some heavy names on the Allied list.

LW got their work cut out for them.  They can be beat with good teamwork.

Good Luck LW flyers!!   :)

Just to clarify a couple of things...

The numbers *will* be even, but that doesn't mean that I'm gonna erase any names from the Allied list come game day. If you've registered - you're flying. It just means that I have to write emails to squad COs, badger people on the private channel in the MA, and post messages on obscure Japanese bulletin boards etc. Pain in the arse, frankly   :)

But I'm still completely confident that we'll be able to even this up - and that has a *lot* to do with guys like you hblair. <S!>

Secondly, someone mentioned that the map looks complex. Heh, wait 'til you've seen the *current* design.   :) But it's only complex from an organizational standpoint. As far as each individual pilot is concerned, it cannot get any simpler for you.

It basically spits ya out into the fighting areas, and reduces the need for *any* ROE to practically nil. I'll bring y'all up to date on it very soon, but believe me - the map has nothing to do with evening out the performance differences in the various planes, and everything to do with making this fight go as smoothly as possible.

Anyways, I would say this...

Despite the imbalance, if you want to fly Allied that's perfectly cool with me. I don't want to force people to fly planes they aint comfortable with. However, if yer undecided... it'd be great if you'd consider evening up the numbers a bit.
