Yeah, wouldn't we all.

However, it's not going to change no matter who you vote for or which guy happens to win.

The President isn't going to change the loss of "good" jobs to overseas competition.

Well, not if he really sticks to "fair trade" policy.

You simply choose to ignore the facts. For various reasons, goods can be made far more cheaply in underdeveloped countries. If you have a "fair trade" policy, there's no way we can compete if we comply with "fair trade" rules.

Now, if you want to you can subsidize our industry. That'll keep jobs here. But it's not "fair trade", that's "protectionism".

See the problem yet?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

I still remember Billy "Now with this Health Care Card anyone will be able to get medical treatment", that was around the end of his first 100 days in 1993.  Nothing ever materialized.   When Democrats get on their soapboxes, I'm always reminded of the sound that my parents' Cuckoo Clock makes.

R & D costs DO NOT justify MOST of the prices charged for drugs.  The monopoly on distribution is why they can do it.

My thoughts, exactly. He was simply pandering to the mothers and fathers of the whiners (and to the whiners  themselves) who joined the reserves/ guard for the extra income or for educational benefits, etc and didn't actually think they might have to fulfill their end of the bargain.

It maybe high drug costs are becasue of r&d but the problem I have is Y are they cheaper every else but here,   The Us community is taking it up the bellybutton with a baseball bat, while the rest of the world gets cheaper drugs.  then they want laws passed so americains have to buy the drugs made in americal from other countries  to lower the costs.  Tell Me does this make sense???????

I think Nash was trolling. I agree with Lizking, asking for Socialized Medicine was bad ju-ju. Any thoughts I had to vote for Kerry just left.

Toad laid it out well too... no specifics from Kerry, but when you look at what he said... just rhetoric. Worse, dishonest rhetoric. It's the Moore approach, hammer 'em with emotion. "Made in America!" "Socialized Medicine!" "Free the Whales!"

My consistant view on Kerry is he is a poll-driven presidential candidate.

Ok so he is a uniter and not a divider...where have we heard this before.

He is taking the highroad...fine...great, all his supporters ie. hollywood, special interest groups will do the mudslinging instead. Just for clarification...mudslinging has been a part of american politics since the start, I don't enjoy it, but I see through it.

He proposed things that Bush already has on the table.

So he is going to tax us more AND have national health care...ok so will the price of housing, gasoline, milk, food etc go down...i doubt it so I can buy even less with my money now. Not that it is all that great to biggin with, but my purchasing power will go from middle class to lower-middle class.

So he is going to bring repubs in the cabinet...how many 1 or 2? Let me see who else has done that.

I don't like Bush, but Kerry is no better and a bit worse IMO.

and Edwards speech was better.

Personal Voting record

Bush '92
Clinton '96
Bush '00
'04? whoever pisses me off the least

Ah Democrats and Republicans fighting over whose team is better. Fantastic, reminds me of high school. A bunch of dumb blonde cheerleaders rooting for their team of which they really didn't understand or care to, just as long as they could cheer.

Go team!

Why would I want to watch some feeble minded Jane fonda Lover Speak....he said all I wanted to hear in the 70's....He was a traitor then and is still a traitor today. ask his squadies what they think of his service to this country.....and those medals they keep talking about....they forgot to mention he threw those in the trash during his USA bashing back in the 70's. Good thing there are more republicians than dumbocrats!

This should be posted on the wall at the DNC. It'll make them all feel good.
