CT ambassadors
« on: August 02, 2004, 08:24:32 PM »
I was thinking of taking things into my own hands instead of waiting for that inept staff to finally come to the realization that they really need someone like me and make a big push to boost the CT population with a broad ad campaign.

But as it has been mentioned by many before, some people come to the CT and don't get it and just leave. Or find us to be too "serious".  So I was thinking before making a big push, how about making a list of people that would like to be "CT Ambassadors".

This would be people not only willing to answer a persons question that is new to the CT, but to actively seek out names they don't recognize and offer their help or to be their wingman.  Maybe invite them in to fly with your squad, so they can feel what I consider to be one of the best parts of this game.

Now I know this could be expected of any of us in the CT.  But I was thinking of using this list of names in my advertising for the CT and it may give a new person the sense that they already "know" somebody in the CT.

I would expect an Ambassador to be dedicated and proactive, receiving no recognition other than possibly helping in repopulate the CT.

Just an idea, but better than just enabling the this plane or that the bring people into the CT.

Arlo answers questions. (This is pretty much how it has gone)

Q: Are there any special rules here?

A: Yeah. You have to HO, gang, vulch, spawncamp and cherrypick or you're considered a dweeb.

Q: Do I have to be in a squad?

A: Only if you expect to successfully conduct operation Shock and Awe as you swarm the enemy bases.

Q: Why am I not earning perks?

A: That only happens in the Columbian Coffee Bean setup.

Q: Are you being serious?

A: Deadly.

I'm sorry but were not looking for someone with your qualifications at this time.

Ok Bug a few changes to your thing.

1 ambassador from each active CT squad(312, JG54, Gunfighters,  Flying monkies, JG7, and a few others)

You have got to drag them from the MA.  How many n0b's ask questions when they get in here, and just leave after reading the Motd.  Personally i thing that is what scares tham away.  That and they dont have there favorite airplanes like lghey etc in here.

My proposal:  Take down the Setup thing motd.  Put up a:
Hi,

Welcome to the Combat theatre.  You can view the current setup at http://www.hitechcreations.com.  Plane rank enabled.

Have.

Regards,
CT Staff.
other than that i think it might be good.  The motd change would want to make more people check out the setup, instead of.  crap my favorite plane not here im going to the ma.

I like your MOTD change Skull, but I have more of a twist planned for that, but very much along the same lines.  I can't reveal everything for free.:D   VoteBug!:aok

I would like to think that each of the squads would be represented, but it's not a necessity.

Also I'm considering more than just dragging them from the MA .

You know you wanna Skull! ---->VoteBug!:aok

Hmmmm .....

I get the feeling that our ambassadors may not all be on the same page as far as a flying FAQ is concerned.

But I became an ambassador for the CT long ago on my own anyhow. :D

Let me get this straight. You're dising the CT banner and the page it's linked to as being an example of a failed attempt to promote the CT? I've got a clue for you. It's gone further to promote the CT than anything you've done so far. I've noticed a couple of dozen visiting players reference the site. Granted ... a couple complained that it was false advertising and split before I could explain that the arena was having some technical problems. And I did it unconditionally ... no strings attached. Now ... you were saying something about ambASSadors? :D

And you're still sensitive about those banners.  Damn you are way too easy.  You should be a staffer, you're as limp d%@ked as they are.
