What the heck is Eve Online anyway? Everquest?

its a space game that requires two things.....time and good decisions.

Its not too bad but when your ship gets blown from out under you like happend to me 3 times today you spend the next hour locating one for the right price and location....not to mention equiping it.

Gameplay is very casual.  You aren't required to be online in order to advance skills or experience.

Next question:  How does trade work?  Is there a way to figure out how much goods cost at each respective station?

I bought water at some damn place for 30IKS and thought I could offload it for more... turns out some dude paid me like 2IKS per unit like half a universe away - I was pissed.

PS:  Got jumped for the first time last night.  Apparently I tried mining the wriong asteriod field.

"Whats the deal with those red squares?"

-Click 'Look at'

"He doesnt look very happy... whats the deal?"

-BEEP BEEP BEEP

"Oh ****!"

-'Warp drive activated.'

LOL!

Are there any exploration quests yet? I left because I was tired of mining, mining, mining, mining, learning, mining, mining, killing NPCs, learning, and so on.

I was in a pretty decent corp, so we got nice powerful ships, yet the gameplay was always the same, so I got bored.

The Corp my main Char is in moved out to a 0.0 system because the ore out there was very rare.  Well come to find out another corp was going to move out that way. The 0.0 system was at a dead end.... one way in .. one way out.  So taking it was very good.  So there was a HUGE battle for the 0.0 system. My Corp sent a kamakazie mission of frigates and intercepters to try and stop the incomming Corp.  Then the Battleships and Cruisers moved in to stop the Incomming Corp.  A huge battle came to a head and i think our corp lost?  i left before it ended due to personal reasons (got married :p ).

But besides mining there is alot of stuff to do... you can build things and sell them, you can Bounty Hunt for good ISK, you can haul ore for people for a fee.  Minning does get old real fast but its easy fast money.

If you click on the "green" icon when you look at your items in the market you can see what other stations are selling your item for and how many jumps away.  I buy stuff that the station im in does not have and i jump the price up. you will be amazed how much poeple pay so they dont have to do a 4 system jump to get an item.

The good ones give you ships... but in most Corps you have to be a member for so long before they let you take what you want, its there way to stop stealing.

WTF!?!?!  I keep getting invitations to join chats from you guys - I accept and then add you to the buddy list and nothing happens.  How do I open the chat window?

Logging back in... mining boredom be damned!

I've moved my freelance operations to Korma.

I got a good level I and II agent out there and good kill missions.

between reward, bonus, bounty, and cargo I had a 6 bookmark mission were I made 150K.

Whats cool about this game is there are so many ways to make money.  You can set up manufacturing and sell ammo, ships, upgrades ect.

you can also set up a research lab and research new skills to sell.

of course that all depends on your skill level but the market their is so dynamic w/ the supply demand system.  I place an order for 1000 missles and they go up in price 100 each.  Pretty cool.
