Not my idea of a fun time.
« on: August 03, 2004, 03:39:15 PM »
Get that HQ / radar thing changed in AH.

AH is a fun game, but not when having to fly blind MOST of the time !!

A game should be fun, not a pain in the b.. neck.

If I have to logon to AH MA many times again just to see that HQ is killed, I will find something better to doo   (and put my 15$ else where)

Its not like this is the first time it has happend in AH. Soo many times I thik "Hey, I could play AH" and when I log on we are down to a few bases and HQ will be down for hours and hours.

It just aint my idea of fun.

I can't imagine that every body else just love this HQ / radar thing

What next? "Realistic" bad weather, and no one can fly for a week or two? :rofl

I dont want to give the wrong picture of this game. I think its a very nice mix of arcade / simulator. Love the flexible view system and the AH2 gunnery is much more fun compared to AH1.

WTG HTC :aok

At the moment I write this, HQ has been down for over one hour.
Knits have 59 players and 3 bases
Rooks have 86 players and bish 71 players.

I can not wait for 4 hours for reset, it will be 03:00 over here lol

Maybe the war should be won when a country is down to 5 bases or like that?
(HQ seems to be down for ever when a country is on the last bases)

Im just saying, it aint fun. Need to find somthing that is fun.

things that may help

* This current map (lake) has no 163's , fix please

* Big Maps

* Eliminate off-map flying

* Much more '88 flak at HQ and on outskirts

* Allow HQ to be Resupped when not 100% down

* Increase tonage on target # for HQ, so one group of B-17s cant take it out

* Send Rod off to Europe again

Sometimes this is a good excuse to go mess around in the CT or DA, which usually turn into quite a fun time

HQ's can now be re-supplied when not 100% down on all of the small maps. Rooks have proven this beyond a doubt. We have brought partial HQ's up in 20 minutes or less on all of the small maps. Try it for yourselves and see, you will notice you get perks in the goon too. Basically, goon it to the max, as soon as the next supply train/convoy gets there, Bling! it's up 100% full.

Absolutely true. I've seen HQ's rebound in 10-15 minutes, with nonstop Berlin Airlift style trains of c47s constantly flying over HQ. I think the help file says every goon delivery cuts wait time by 15 minutes. Teamwork does live in AH, no matter what you may have heard elsewhere!

Zazen down time for a damage Hq with out city hurt is about 23 mins. When HQ destroyed it takes 8 goons to rebuild. So if your using more than 8 goons your not rebuilding hq. but buildings in town.

Unless you've seen something From dale saying he changed code. I 'm sure its still unable to rebuild hq that is only damaged. But then been gone 2months  so he might have. Read bbs every day never saw him posting change?

?Ask morpheus I can tell you exact rebuild when it will be up after each bombing. And Just did it today 3 times to Rooks and rebuild was 23 mins avg.

Alot of people have said that the non rebuild of damaged HQ was a bug. Exact quote from Hitech " Rod If you could rebuild a damage HQ that would be a bug". This was quoted when I was testing festers map and bombed HQ to test rebuild. I reported to dale when he came in that we had a rebuild bug.

And like soo many here think NOE is 200ft when its really 500ft. They think this because some spread it out that 200 is noe.

Don't know much about HQ. Don't go there much. I try to stay away from there with all that brass hangin' around. Nothing but trouble.

NOE is 500 ft AGL and below ... not 200 ft AGL.

When I flew for the MAW, NOE was one of our most favorite missions, and we knew, without a doubt, that the NOE ceiling is 500 ft AGL.

Not a lot, but some of our NOE missions were busted when an errant pilot broke 500 ft AGL ... not 200 ft AGL

Another person who could back this up is Flossy. I believe that she said that had once believed that the ceiling was 200 ft AGL, so she performed some test and found that the ceiling for NOE was indeed 500 ft AGL.

Rod ... I believe that the misnomer of 200 ft AGL is probably maintained due to the fact that when flying the NOE mission, anybody who wasn't MAW, we would tell them that the ceiling was 200 ft AGL just to keep them honest and below the 500 ft AGL mark ... ;)

Wasn't it 200 ft AGL in that other older flight sim?   Maybe that's where the confusion started?

Oh, and HT can we have V2 rockets.  You take down our HQ we V2 yours down, so on so forth.  Sort of a MAD style deterrence system.  We all fly blind.

On a more serious note, how hard would it be to receive local DAR for the base you're nearest?   No coordinated centralized DAR (HQ is down afterall), but local stuff might still be operative.

Well HT just came on to clear up. You cannot Rebuild a damaged HQ and Noe has always been 500ft.
