Thinking of an experment. #7

To see what happens, am considering locking all in threads in the General Discussion ,for a week if any of the following apear.


1. Any flame of some ones post, not a counter discusion, but a flame. Also flame baits.

2. Any personal attacks.

3. A whine, not a suggest ,critisim or view, but the over the top stuff.


What do you guys think is it worth a try to see if it changes the general flavor?

I think it is abundantly clear that it already has.

HIJACK...Since we have your attention hightek...the il2 has same problem the f6f had with the tail. Also if you are not on pavement tail bounces and then breaks off.

sadly, I see posts that are not taking the new ideas into consideration.

The newest post on the board violates the "rules" Hitech has suggested. I fear that some people are playing into the “let’s close the thread and get banned” group. Kind of a bummer on the thing if you ask me.

Not subliminal at all, pretty overt indication that folks haven't got it yet if you ask me. Although I think #6 might have driven that home.

HT I think you're gonna be pretty busy and set yourself up as the bad cop (don't know if that bothers you or not, just be ready to not be thanked for you efforts, I suspect).

     Also, if you get a minute, go back and check the Blammo's son thread.  In the middle of a thread, where the vast majority of the respondants were trying to offer emotional support if nothing else, a couple of folks got frustrated and popped off.  There was some baiting and name calling, sure, but I would hate to have seen that thread locked because a couple of folks were acting, well, jerky.

     I think it would be a lot better if you could just lock out the jerky offender rather than the whole discussion, probably take even more effort than locking threads though.  Would work sorta like PNG in that other sim though, punish the guilty party, not the community?

Only 2 has any merit. #1 and #3 are strictly subjective.
Criticism is a whine only when someone doesn't feel like reading it or perhaps, doesn't understand the subject.
A flame is only a flame when someone doesn't possess the tools or inclination to refute it.

WildCrd: This would be done in this form only. If it works the other forms, with the excepction of the O.C. which will have different standards.

The OC Should have a some what salty flavor.
