Guiness is great, but I've had better stouts.   Can't remember what they were though, but I was like "Wooot!" when I had one.  Some kind of microbrew an English buddy of mine had.  This is gonna piss me off till I remember what it was...

If it's beer it's got to be in a bottle.  Beer in a can taste like****.  Not that I drink or anything.:lol

Chimay is not beer, it is nectar! But I prefer the blue label.

I have tried making 4 or 5 different homebrew clones of Chimay and none have really even been that close. The particular yeast they use is not "culturable" since the stuff all died in the primary, the yeast you can cultivate from a bottle is the stuff they use as a secondary or bottling yeast.

I've never seen the Blue Label .. i abscond with as much red as i find ..but even that's a touch rare in these parts . Trying to recreate those unique flavors is a noble task . i salute you  .

Is it just me , or do y'all think that the circumstances present during the consumption of brew , affects the taste ?

a few weeks after my sixteenth birthday , i remember an event ...

< cheap SNL dream sequence effects >

It was hot ... late july near Lemoore NAS ... i had done about 3 hours of yardwork in the sun , and Dad brought out a dark bottle of Buckhorn beer . my first . i can still visulize it to the rivelets of condensation rolling down the bottle . This was cheap stuff ... like 89 cents a sixpack in 1973 dollars .. but it tasted like ambrosia .

i like beer.

Girls are good too , Morph .

I was over in Italy back in 89.   I had my very first Chimay there and was in love at first sip.   I figured I would never find it in the States ans even if I did it wouldn't be the same.   Well I found it at a local Liquor store!       There is a God and He drinks Chimay!

Ummmm  yeah girls (18) are great too but women are better.
