question for the vets
« on: August 04, 2004, 07:17:18 PM »
ok here goes.

ive been playing now for about a month and a half and was having very little success in anything other then a gv.  Tried lots of planes (would use 1 type for 3-4 days, then switch) until one night I came to try the Niki.

Why is this a "dweeb" plane and therefore am I a "dweeb" player for flying it?  Ive landed more kills in the last week then all of my time combined.  It seems to get me out of trouble much more then any other plane and I stay alive much longer, which for me was a huge plus!

Is it because there are so many of them?  I read alot of posts here and dont respond much, but I see a pretty constant trend.  La-7's Niki's and p-51's at time are considered "dweebish".

Iam courious as to the reason why.  Honestly Im not going to change planes anytime soon as for the fact that I can finally land a kill but I would like to know why it is.

Planes are called dweeb planes if they are easy to get kills in.  IMHO you are only a dweeb if a) you have been flying for a long time and therefore should have evolved beyond the easymode planes; and b)  you fly the dweeb planes most or all of the time.

Since you are a newbie you can't be a dweeb.  Anyway, keep flying whatever you like.  You'll probably get bored of the Niki some day.

Odi, don't let anyone dissuade you from flying what you like to fly.

There are no "dweeb"planes.

Some call certain planes "dweeb planes" because they think they are too easy to fly and get kills in, and they get killed by them alot.

Truth is, its the pilot not the machine. Anyone who is getting killed on a regular basis by a particular aircraft, has not figured out how to deal with that aircraft.

If you get accused of flying a "dweeb plane" by someone who you just shot down, just hold your peace and your tongue and know that you just owned them.

Fly what you want and don't let anybody else tell ya different.

Cheers,

First step to mastering all of the planes is finding the first plane you can learn how to fight in. Good going. Now you will stay with our community that much longer.:aok

hmmmm..maybe we better make some definitions here:

1. Dweeb planes are any planes that shoot you down.

2. A HO is any shot that kills you that came from within 180 degrees fwd of your wings.

3. Cherry pick is any shot that kills you that you did not see coming.

All said in jest of course.

The reality is that none of that is true.

Grab yer favorite ride and go kill anything red. All the rest is in the category of "who cares".

If you want to learn how to be more effective in the air, I highly recommend hooking up with one of the trainers in the TA, or asking anyone for some help for that matter. There are alot of great sticks here who are always more than willing to give a hand.

If you see me in the MA, CT, or TA feel free to give me a shout anytime.

cheers,

Just be yourself and fly what you like mate :)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

The N1K2-J has the advantage of being very manuverable and having a very good power to weight ratio.  That it has great firepower is just an added bonus.  These factors make it ideal for new players to learn to survive in while enabling them to get kills without using extreme ammo conservation measures.

Later on as you get better you will start noticing that speed is more important for using survival tactics and will likely want something that brings that to the table.

For now though, fly the N1K2-J and have fun.  It is one of the best brawlers in the game.

you chk july stats morph i think 163 kills alone in a  262 plus la7 70 kills or so and yes even though it wasnt often u flew the dreaded nik1 unless july stats are wrong.

people shouldnt whine about others in nik1, la7 or 262 they only get mad because they put themselves in a position to get killed.

most of you guys if you drop your gaurd and get killed by a plane that isnt considered  dweebish, it was becuse of lag or some other reason, not because u screwed up./ cause your too good to be killed fairly

should be a counter move to any move there, if you choose right you live if not you die.
people can avoid ho's but for some reason think they will win and stay straight. when they loose they call the other person a ho.

people call planes "dweeb planes" because of the "easy mode" they fly in.

like you said yourself, you are new, and having trouble in most planes, then in the n1k2 you get kills.

now imagine that plane in the hands of an extreemly skilled veteran, and you are in a difficult plane to fly like the C.205

thats where calling someone a "dweeb" in my book comes from
I don't know what to put here yet.

Me thinks that the sarcasm and wit in Furballs post went zooming over freedom1's head.

two hints ... notice the teensy La-7 and the smiley face.
