I was flying tonite for the bishops and took an on the deck 47 run from 24 to 17 and made it all the way to the field (our bombers had taken down the ack and then pulled out to make it look like we lost interest).
Discod shot me down while I was grabbing to the field elevation, and even though the solo mission failed it was a blast riding the terrain all the way in and getting all the way to 17. If 17 had been a sea-level field than the film I took would have had a happy ending, but it was still a blast.
Along the way I threaded the needle hugging the 12 gridline all the way. On more than a few occasions I saw rook 109's, 205' and 51's pass overhead...that's right, within icon range, pure luck I wasn't spotted I know, but what a rush (oh and almost augured a couple of times...never, ever hit x when that low...hehe)
I purposely took this seemingly more perilous route so that my grid bar would not attract attention as it would have if I had gone north into the 13 grid series.
Why am I posting on such a boring Goon mission that ended in failure? Well I happened to film it, not from the start unfortunately , but not much after I took off, so most of the mission is on there.
I guess I'm posting this because there maybe some sick individuals like me (I doubt it, but who knows) who may actually like to see a goon mission hugging the tree tops. Anyway, I wish I could post it but I don't have a website to post it too. Does anyway know a way I could still get this film posted somehow. It's not a bad film of how the new terrain can be used. Not once did I show as a blip/dot on the Rooks radar. Discod said the radio chatter on their side was pretty busy trying to find out where I was.
Any help would be appreciated. It made the usual boring goon run alot of fun.
