I respect his decision to do that in Dallas.

But...

Wasn't he the head coach in New York when the Giants has Lawrence Taylor?

Well, I agree with that completely.

I am talking more of consistancy.

Ricky made him do it

You know as well as I do that if Quincy had been able to play football as well at LT he wouldnt have been cut.  It should be about consistency but they cant afford to be consistent in today's salary cap driven NFL.  The better a player is the more leniency he gets in regards to violations.

Exactly, that was my point.  While I applaud him for cutting Carter and maybe knocking some sense into him he is hypocritical for making a big deal of it.

Cutting Carter took a little bit of guts.  If he was really gutsy he would have taken LT down a peg.

Yes he was but if memory serves me when he was my beloved NYG head coach wellington Mara and George Young made all the key decisions in firing, hiring etc.  Also I dont think his drug problem was made public when he was still wearing blue.

i believe one of Parcells demands since he was with the 'cough' jets, was to have total control with making management decisions.  This he has with Dallas Jerry Jones finally got smart.

I don't recall any LT issues while he was playing... except maybe for his final year.  It seems his issues came into the media spotlight after he quit.

I must say... this almost makes the Cowboys a likeable team again.  They haven't been anywhere near that since 81.

Carter recently violated the NFL's substance-abuse policy for the second time and would have been fined four game checks totaling $107,060 - but would not have been suspended - three sources told the Dallas Morning News. A third violation would have resulted in a four-game suspension, according to the league's substance-abuse policy. FOXSports.com reported that Carter tested positive for cocaine.

I say good riddance to Crackhead Carter.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Quincy was a no good coke sniffing, weed smoking sack of watermelon when he was here at the University of Georgia.  He didnt complete his commitment to us, be/c he "injured his shoulder".  When in fact he was involved with some very unsavory characters including Jasper Sanks who in turn was busted for dealing narcotics.  Coach simply let him go to avoid NCAA repercussions. Or simply put you can take a negro out the ghetto, but you cant take the ghetto out of the negro.

Plenty of them do, my point being look at how many black athletes are arrested for spousal abuse, drug charges, rape, murder, DUI.  In black "culture" it's cool the be the "thug" the "playa", "pimp", "hustler" you name it.  It isnt about the love of the sport its how many Ho's or how much bling you got.  Spinner wheels on Escalades..........started by athletes/rappers....tv's in cars.....ditto.

Weeee!! The Cowboys would have sucked with Carter, but without him they will be even more Craptastic! I can just picture Vinny Testaverde rolling out on a bootleg with his walker.

Go Skins.
