It was a devastating day for America, for all Americans, and the free world. Ruthlessly attacked, with thousands dead where the public had no reason to believe it was anything but safe. Even the US government was taken aback, no one had anticipate planes being used to attack us like that. As the smoke still rose from the ruins, and as the dead and dying still lay trapped beneath the destruction, congress gave the President of the United States of America their blessing to go to war and protect our country from any such heinous attacks in the future. But this is where something went terribly wrong. Instead of concentrating our forces on those who attacked us, we spent most of our military might on attacking a country that had never attacked the United States, sure they may have attacked countries on their side of the world, but is that any reason to send in American troops? To be sure their leader was an insane madman who may have someday directly threatened America, and with him removed from power we may have avoided some 'theoretical' or 'hypothetical' attacks down the road, but the fact remains that we have dead American Heroes who fought bravely to defeat a country who never attacked us. You could say that it wasn't just Americans fighting this war, but lets be honest, the vast vast majority of fighting soldiers, tank commanders and even Fighter Pilots were Americans. We paid the price in the losses of our young solders, to fight in a war with a country who never attacked us. This is why I call on the American people to rise up and let the world know that we will not let the President of the United States get away with this sort of abuse of power. We were wrong in attacking Germany, and President Roosevelt was wrong, and the American people must stand up and be heard.
