I'd love to learn to sail, but after reading so much O'Brian, all these fore and aft modern boats don't look that sexy.

But those cruises on square rigged vessels seem a lot of work, and even somewhat  dangerous... "you will be required to go aloft" read the trip descriptions... i'm getting fat and lazy,  so...

Bleh, I'll just re-read O'Brian again :D

it was great actually. the only electronics i had to use was the microwave once, the VHF and the thingie that measures how much water i have under my keel :) Everything else, inc the cellphone was off......bliss.
