Ya know, I don't know about the VA cuts but the Family seperation and iminent fire pay that ad talks about I do know about.

I support our War in Iraq . The money to pay for it has to come from somewhere and the Congress is reluctant to pay for it.

FSA and IFP were perks during PEACETIME . FSA for being away for long periods of time and IFP for going into area that there would be a possibility of attack. In a war you will be attacked. That is a given. I have always looked at is as a nice bonus, but wouldn't complain if I didn't get it. After all I enlisted on my own free will not knowing (like most enlistees) about these special pays, therefore I am just doing my job.

Anyhow you can't say Bush "hates our veterans" or our active duty servicemen. We've gotten some pretty decent pay raises under him sometimes twice a year.

People always put stuff on the president. If the VA is being cut congress would probrably pass it with or without him. After all the bugdet comes from them not the president. If he signed that bill then there's a chance he felt that if he vetoed it would go back and just be passed anyway.

Word on the street is that tuition assistance is going to be cut, but to what I don't know.  It is currently at 100% with a ceiling that is easy to stay under.  I also know that the next round of base closures is near, and there will be some surprises.

Haven't heard a thing about HF and FS pay being cut inside the AOR.  Possibly the AOR is shrinking??

I heard this too about TA.  What a buddy told me is that so many people took advantage of that the cost was enormouse.

When ever I hear grumbles about this I just remindem that TA while a good thing....is a bennie not a right.

this to me sounds like spin....IRC congress cut benifits to vets who have an income of 60k or greater.....and something else were social security/medicare picks up slack elsewere.  Cant find the source were I read it though

Agree completely.  While I have taken advantage of it, I see it for what it is, a very nice benefit that was not promised me when I signed on..a few years ago.

The  VA DOES need to clean up its act. As the rules stand right now virtually any Vet, regardless of discharge status (provided it wasn't dishonorable)  nor length of service who served between 1963 and 1974,or thereabouts,  is eligible for free medical care.

I know a guy who served six weeks of basic, was drummed out for being a crybaby and today that sucker gets free medical care PLUS a disability pension of about 650- a month- all brought to you by a VA system inviting abuses.

I never said he did. Im asking if these allegations are true and if they are true or even in part. Then I'll make up my mind.

Nevermind the negative video and music. Thats what made me question this the original time  I posted it. Im looking at the figures and asking if they can be substantiated. If so I'd be a bit disappointed.
