That would be cool.
I the farthest I've ever driven was down to maple grove raceway in PA. It was a long drive from where I am in CT. I mostly play at Lebanon Val. Raceway in NY and Englishtown in NJ. There are a few business men here trying to start a drag strip here in CT. Street racing was so bad here a year or more back that there were actually people lobbying to open a strip to take us off the streets! lol. I kid you not. We even had a web site up to set up races, talk smack or BS.
http://www.thepike.net Which thanks to the wonderful Conneticut state police has been shut down along with our strip, the Berlin Turnpike on rt15. Now if you even chirp the tires you are at risk of getting a dam ticket. Trust me i know lol.
9s are awsome. I've found that once you do dip into the 9's you are really opening a door to a whole new world. The term "street car" pretty much gets thrown out the window. Altho the beauty of juice is the stupid amount of power it makes when its on.... When its on... And the cool think is its not always ON. But you know what I'm talking about. A 9 sec car on motor is no street car. A 9 Sec car on juice can still be a street car.
I went with TT's because I love how they dont make boost when you are just driving. But when you send the peddle to the mat and the boost hits, it hits like juice (with the right tubos) and sounds sick as hell. Also because there are only a handful of cars worth talking about that have a tubo setup. They are also way more efficient at making power than a supercharger ever could be. No belts, no pullys, no gear driven ATI prochargers, just a fan more or less.
As far as my cam goes its split lift / split duration. I wish I could remember the specs on it off the top of my head but I can't. The lift is big big big, and the duration is still huge but not so big that I wont make power until 4000+ rpm. Its rated at something like 3000-6800... Again if I remember right. A nice broad power range still good for the street and killer at the track. And she will be seeing revs that high and higher once I drive it a few miles and make sure everything's tuned. I've seen some bad nightmares from guys who dont tune a forced induction motor and start beating on it.
The thing I always need to remind myslef is the simple fact that this car will never pay for itself. It will never be more than a tool used to laugh at the porshes ,M3's and Vets (Z06's mainly) around here. So I think this is it for me. If I make it into the 9s with this setup I'm going to be real syked up but if I dont, I wont be doing much more after this to try and get it there if I dont. But I think I will see 9's hehe, I dont want to jinx anything...
btw, 138 is an awsome mph. Its actually an easy 10sec. mph here at sea lvl. What are you crossing the line at rpm wise? Gears? Auto? we need to talk more! Your 60ft time is pretty darn good too.
See what you've done? lol I'll talk for hours on end about drag racing and cars! lol
