Question on exceptions for Skins.
« on: August 09, 2004, 08:44:58 PM »
I've got a quick question to see if there is any possible exceptions for a skin. Can I make a P-40N skin and place it on a P-40E body for Aces High?

I have a squad mate who's Uncle flew for the 80th FG, 88th FS out of Myitkyina starting on the day of 3 July 1944.  6 Days later on 9 July, 1944 1st Lt. Robert Gale shot down 2 zeros while on a bombing mission.

His flight of P-40 N5s ran across a group of 30 Zeros.  Lt. Gales flight was climbing out carrying 500lbs worth of bombs when the first few enemy cons were sighted.  His flight leader Captain Owen Allred called for the flight to arm their bombs and release them.  Lt. Gales plane took hits when the first zeros dived in.  He began looking for cover in the clouds when came upon an unsuspecting Zero.  He let out a short burst and the plane went down in flames.

He then found another Zero and engaged him.  He let out a few bursts landing solid hits and the Zero turned over and tried to Split S away.  The Zero was to low and ended up crashing.

In less than 45 minutes Lt. Gale shot down 2 Zeros in a P-40N5 "DIKAM DEATH".  He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with 3 clusters for his actions while in service with the U.S. Air Corp, 80th FG, 88th FS.
