Why do you like the night?  What makes it "beautiful" or "tactical"?  What makes it better for the strat game?

Unless you have a separate club, where only those who wish to fly or play a certain way are excepted, you will always have others who want something different from the game you play. I suggest joining into the CT with folks that want the same as you.

There has to be one place where anything can happen..at the moment its MA.

Do I have a problem with my command of English?  Do I misunderstand this reply with relation to the thread?

TOD is going to be Strat as I'm lead to believe.  I really feel the "click, fly, die"  crew are already infesting err established in MA.

Bring on the TOD.  Bring on a game where organisation, stratigy and THINKING are key eliments.  Other than "Up, point, fire, die".

As to ACK ACK reply.  I think you'll find Darkish said leave it (MA) or tune it (MA) to the furballers.  What Darkish refers to as the "Gamboy" eliment.

MA suits the "Want it now" personality where as TOD will be for the more "patient" personality.   Take this as you will:rolleyes:

First let me address the misconception you have of ToD.  ToD is not geared to the 'strat' player.  It is geared to the Role Player, the one that want's to simulate the day in the life of a World War II pilot.  Be it as a figher pilot or a bomber pilot.

The MA is fine how it is now, there is no need to 'tweak it' to fit the playing style of one over the other.  The main arena can easily support both styles of players and it's been doing it for over 5 years.

Add new maps to the MA but leave the game mechanics alone, it works.

Just hope they are all similar to FesterMA.

My misconception realised.  Thanks for pointing that out.  I look forward to checking it out and bombing the daylights out of ??

In reference to the MA I have no objections other than Night Time.  Otherwise I can / do live with it.  I, however, resever judgment on some antics deployed in MA.

Personally, I'd like to see the return of night time as well but the problem with that was a lot of pilots would just crank up the gamma on their video cards.  That resulted in turning night into day for those that did it.

As for the antics employed by some in the MA, well that's not a product of the MA but the pilot themselves.

In the cold light of day (hangover subsided), I must admit that my post was heavy handed.

- On how the MA is played, well that's a can of worms I won't be opening, but I'm on the side of "it's my money, I'll do what I want"
to the tune of, "I may not agree with you but I'll defend your right to say it". (sry - badly paraphrased)

Why do I want a bit of night?  Well it's down to a craving for variety - this is reflected in the way I play, an all rounder/jack of all trades and what I fly is dependant on the current state of the front.

I'm sure we had an icon system once where they faded out the further away the con was.

I apologise for a slightly drunken rant by someone who was temporarily confused as to the goal of the MA - I remember now, it's to have fun in - sometimes get caught up in it all and take it a bit too seriously.  However I am still fearful of the MA mentality resembling Animal farm; with the guys that do the dirty work (horses) and the furballers (pigs).

Ahhh...see we now get to the crux of the matter.  You're a buffer and resent the furballer.  Hate to tell you but without us furballers to take care of the enemy fighters, they'd be all over your buffs.

I still don't follow you.  Variety...well X-Wings and Tie Fighters would add variety too, but you probably don't want that.  Why night?

LOL.  Good grief.  No, that resemblance does not exist.
