then ill have a good week, but then go back to haveing a horible time getting kills......
mabey the players im coming up against are getting better or im just getting worse, if there is such a thing as getting worse?
Ditto.
I had steady increase for first 3-4 months, then stalled at peak for a month -- which was frustrating in itself. This month I've got worse KPD than even my newbie month.
I think a couple things are going on for me. First and foremost, I've now got the confidence to fight in situations that I'd have completely avoided before. That alone could explain most of my "decline." However, I'm also pressing -- I'm almost suicidally aggressive sometimes, willing to dao anyting for a kill opportunity. Yesterday I saw a low con on the deck right beneath me and dove 90degree vertically from 5k alt advantage -- i got the kill, but of course I augered. I leaned back and dimly realized "THAT wasnt very smart, was it" -- while a part of me wsa satisfied that I at least killed something.
Break the cycle. I've been ypping bombers, going to CT, and just flying less to let the adrenaline frustration bleed off. I'll be back in all my glorious mediocrity before too long.....
About the stick -- you'll never be able to hit anything if you don't have a reliable center. (SOunds like the Zen continuation of the above paragraphs, doesnt it.) I went through 2 logitech wingman extreme sticks in 6 omnths, having to calibrate all the time at the end. I think we AH'ers get so much use that we just push those sticks past their design limitations -- so I'd suggest either getting a not for the masses stick (just bought my x45 and can't BELIEVE how much better it feels), or buying a cheap one with the Best Buy warranty for $7-10 added cost. that way when it dies, you can just take it in and restart the process for another $10 (to get a new warranty on the replacement stick.....hehehe).
