Power outage suks
« on: August 13, 2004, 10:35:26 PM »
A fearsome monsoon storm knocked my power out about 45 mins ago. I had been studying how badly I was gonna get my *** kicked in diplomacy at the time.

Anyway, had to dig my laptop out, find a phone cord, call earthink for a numer and connect in the dark.

Plus, about 1.5 seconds after losing power, it was aprox. 185 degrees in my house :)

WOW,

I wonder if we get power from the same place?

We just lost power here at the base for a few hours and it just came back on.

Anyone else lose power over the last hour?

Strangely enough, the power to about half a million homes in Australia went out for about two hours last night from ten till midnight, apparently, it was dark from Newcastle to Cairns (about 3000 km or so of some of Australia's densest population areas)

Hey Nuke,

Just to let you know, my rig has a generator and last night in the Minesota campground it was cool enough for me to see my breath fog.  ;)

Do I miss Arizona this time of year? Nope. :D

well it could have been somthing like the plant that supplied NUKE went off line and the plant that supplied me had to kick in extra power and was over loaded.  Funny though we got power back right as I posted and it was one minute after Nuke posted.

I still think its ironic that as soon as power came back on I saw your post about losing power.

You're in for some great weather Nuke.  Forecast calls for slightly cooler on Tuesday with very spaced storms.  Other than that, perfect in the 70s.

Going camping for the week tomorrow morning as well.
