Grun, do you think the capture or killing of OBL should be a priority for the US?  ;)

So long as I don't lose my PX, it's OK.

it would make no difference - maybe make matters worse

it'd be like the time I stepped on a huge spider when I was about 10 years old. Must have had an egg sac ready to burst cause next thing I knew there were hundreds of  tiny spiders scattering across the driveway....

I don't understand the analogy Eagler.  Al-Quaida is by it's nature a very disconnected organisation.  I don't see how capturing or killing OBL would make them spread more.

Yeah but why would he be more dangerous as martyr than he is now?  A rallying symbol of Al-Quaeda?  He's already that.  And he's also shown that he's gotten away with 9/11 up to this point.  I think it would be a huge blow to Al-Quaeda for OBL to be captured/killed.  And I think it would be a great symbol of success for the west if he was captured killed.

Look at SH, he went from a powerful symbol to a pathetic old moron in two seconds.  I think that OBL could be likewise turned into a focus for redicule.

Great minds in action.
Since Bush has failed to capture or kill Osama..it would be bad to do so..lol

Unless they are going to hire 70000 new troops they need someone to man the permenant basing that is being built in Iraq.

So why the hell do we still have so many soldiers and airmen stationed in Germany, the threat of the roo...err red-horde has passed (largely). Pull em all out and if you want them in that neck-of-the-woods send them to Poland or Estonia, you know countries that value the USA as allies. I'm sure eastern Europe could use the billions of dollars our service men and women pump into the local ecomonies.

At the beginning of the summer, a South Korean Foreign Ministry official said the United States had told him it would like to withdraw a third of its 37,000 troops stationed on the peninsula by the end of next year.

It's about 'frigging' time.....  Get them out of Germany as well.....

Osama is enemy number one but you think it is probably better that the US does not capture him?

NK is a threat or not? Why remopve 1/3 of the forces for from NK. They either are a threat or they are not. I would not want to be the 1/3 left in the NK if they went south because of poor diplomacy. Talk about wake island.

I think if your going to evaluate the threat and pull out troops from NK, pull them all out or leave them there. Just my opinion.

I've already mentioned my opinion on Germany. If you cant make NATO play, this is the only real alternative because of the lack of troops in IRAQ and Afganistan. Beets the draft in 05 and reduces the stress on the reserves. Foreign policy has failed in Europe with the allies.
