AH2 v2.01 will have a new fighter (Ki-84), new bomber and new tank.

We don't know what the bomber or tank will be yet.  HTC isn't ready to tell us.

Didn't Pyro mention a Defiant?

 Or was that his joke?

grunch,

I highly doubt it will be another perk tank.  I'd bet on the M4A3 E8 76mm Sherman, with the T-34/85 as my secondary guess.  We need more non-perk tanks and we need Allied tanks.

Kweassa,

I'm pretty sure that was Pyro's joke based on somebody else's joke in an earlier thread that got a lot of people to bite.  I wouldn't be shocked to see the B-24, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is something Russian.

M26  Heavy Tank Pershing

Armament:   1 - 90mm gun
                       1 - 0.3" coaxial MG
                       1 - 0.3" hull mounted MG
                       1 - 0.5" AA MG
Engine:         Ford GAF, V-8 gas, 500 hp
Speed:         30 mph
Range:         92 miles
Crew:           5
Weight:        42 tons
Entered service in 1945. Saw service in Korea in the
1950's. Ancestor of the Patton and a long line of
post-war tanks up to the M-60. With a 90 mm gun.
it could meet the Tiger and Panther on equal terms.
With the long barreled gun, heavy armor and Ford V-8
engine, this was the best American tank of WWII.
The most significant deficiency noted was the poor
power-to-weight ratio due to the Ford engine. Although
adequate for the 35 ton Sherman, it caused the M-26 to
be grossly underpowered.

Certainly put the Tiger out of business.

Kweassa... pyro merely stated the boulant paul turret was taking longer than expected... the Defiant wasn't the only aircraft to feature a turret by BP... I think this was kinda a backhanded hint.  My thinking is the B-24 will be the new bomber.

Soulyss,

Pyro specifically mentioned the Defiant in one of his posts about the Boulton-Paul turret.  I'm pretty sure it was just a joke.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bomber proves to be the B-24, but I don't think that was a clue.

More Gvs
« Reply #9 on: August 18, 2004, 06:26:36 PM »
I would like to see a T34 in 76mm and low perk it for 85 mm. Also the stalin tank with 122mm would be a good match up for the tiger. What I would really love to see  is the 4x20mm flak panzer. Because of the new shooting models in AH2 it is very difficult to hit any plane in a ostie now. Since I'm wishing would like to see more Russian/Japanese fighters and bombers. HT said a while ago one reason they were going to AH2 was because it would be easier to add new aircraft and gvs. HT please listen, anything new would be much appreciated. I've been playing AH for almost two years and no new aircraft or planes have been added. Squad member told me last new aircraft was 3 years ago (163). Love the game but something new would make great game even better.

guess I never saw the post where he specifically said "defiant'  just that the BP turret was being difficult.  And B-24's happen to have a BP turret. :)
